Team members are made up of young men and women from 4th grade through college. The Cass County Clays belong to the SCTP, ATA and AIM organizations. Team members compete in Skeet, Sporting Clays and Trap events. Head Coaches are: Roger "Buzz" Spencer and Gary Chambers. Assistant Coaches are: Jennifer Buck, Tony Maple and Maria Spencer. When asked why these young men and women are athletes, Head Coach Roger "Buzz" Spencer replied; "Most people think of athletes as football, basketball and baseball players, but do not realize that shooting is a sport also. Our kids are taught early on how important it is to eat right and stay hydrated, especially on competition days. Also, mounting your gun 100's of times a day is not easy. So we instruct them to do a minimum of 100 gun mounts a day to prepare them for practices and competitions". Coach "Buzz" continues and said, "I feel that our team is very lucky to have a great group of kids, as well as parents. They learn good sportsmanship, how to lift each other up on bad days, and praise each other for a job well done!"
