If you want a versatile, long-term mounting solution for your smartphone or tablet in the garage that offers 360-degree rotation and a reusable adhesive base, choose iWill 360; if you need a dedicated, heavy-duty suction mount specifically designed to hold dash cams like the G1W or LS300W securely against windshield vibrations, choose StumpTools Plastic Suction Cup.
• iWill 360: Its biggest strength is the reusable self-adhesive design that allows for horizontal 360° and vertical 180° movement without leaving residue, making it ideal for repositioning devices. Its trade-off is that it lacks the specialized adapters required for specific dash cam models and relies on surface adhesion rather than vacuum suction. This pick is for anyone needing a flexible stand for phones or GPS units in a garage or home setting.
• Its trade-off is that it is single-use per adhesive cycle and includes no adhesive backing, meaning it cannot be moved once installed without risking loss of suction. This pick is strictly for drivers who need a permanent, vibration-resistant mount for their specific dash cam models.
The iWill 360 stands out immediately because of its mechanical flexibility and its reliance on a reusable adhesive rather than suction. That extra mass suggests a solid build quality intended to handle heavier devices like tablets without wobbling. It is not a flimsy clip; it is a structural piece of equipment designed to keep your device safe from drops. The black finish provides a neutral aesthetic that blends into almost any environment, whether it is a cluttered workbench in a garage or a dashboard during a road trip.
The core functionality revolves around the range of motion. The product supports horizontal 360-degree rotation and vertical 180-degree movement. This is a critical feature for users who need to switch between landscape and portrait modes frequently. Imagine having your phone mounted on a wall in your garage to watch instructional videos while working on a car engine. You can rotate the screen fully to the left or right and tilt it up or down to find the perfect viewing angle without taking the mount off the wall. This level of control improves device handling significantly compared to fixed mounts that only allow one orientation.
The adhesive system is the defining characteristic here. It is described as a reusable self-adhesive pad. This means you can stick it to a smooth surface, remove it later, clean the surface, and stick it again elsewhere. There is no mention of glue hardening or losing tackiness after a few uses, which implies a high-quality material that maintains its bond over time. This makes it perfect for people who might move their devices around the house or garage. If you decide you want to mount your tablet near the door instead of the workbench, you can do so easily. It prevents the frustration of dealing with sticky residue or damaged surfaces, which is a common issue with cheaper adhesive mounts.
However, this product is not a universal fit for every scenario. It is designed primarily for smartphones, mobile phones, and tablets. While it mentions compatibility with GPS units like Garmin or TomTom, it does not list specific dash cam models or provide the necessary mounting plates for them. If you are trying to mount a bulky DVR or a dash cam that requires a specific proprietary connector, this ring holder might not be the right tool. It is a general-purpose holder, not a specialized accessory. Furthermore, because it relies on adhesion, it will not work well on textured or uneven surfaces. It demands a clean, flat area to function correctly. If you have a rough concrete wall or a dusty shelf, the bond may fail.

Who should buy this? Anyone who needs a flexible, repositionable stand for their mobile devices in a static location. It is excellent for a garage setup where you might watch tutorials while organizing tools or charging your phone. It is also great for travelers who want a reliable way to hold a GPS device that doesn't require suction cups that might fall off in the heat. Who should skip it? Drivers who need a dedicated, vibration-dampening mount for a specific dash cam model, or users who plan to mount their device on non-smooth surfaces. If you need something that clicks into a specific camera bracket, look elsewhere.
The StumpTools Plastic Suction Cup takes a completely different approach, focusing entirely on the demands of active driving environments. The moment you read the specifications, the emphasis shifts from versatility to stability. The larger surface area creates a stronger vacuum seal, which is essential when keeping a camera attached to a windshield that vibrates constantly at highway speeds. The material composition is highlighted as high-quality temperature-resistant plastic and PVC suction material. This is a crucial detail for North American drivers who experience extreme summer heat or freezing winters. Many cheap plastics become brittle in the cold or melt and deform in the heat, but this unit is engineered to withstand those daily temperature swings without failing.
One of the most compelling features listed is the inclusion of five different adapter types. This specificity tells me that this is not a generic "one-size-fits-all" attempt; it is a targeted solution for owners of these specific devices. If you own one of these dash cams, you do not need to hunt for third-party brackets or risk damaging your camera with an ill-fitting clamp. The kit comes with everything needed for a secure match. This eliminates the guesswork and ensures that the connection between the mount and the camera is rigid and safe.
The installation process is described as simple and tool-free. You simply attach it to a clean, smooth windshield or dashboard. Despite being light, the combination of the heavy-duty suction and the swivel ball joint head provides stability. The ball joint allows for 360-degree rotation and multi-angle adjustment. This flexibility ensures you can capture the perfect road view without blind spots. You can position the camera to see directly ahead, or tilt it slightly to monitor the rearview mirror or side windows, all while maintaining a firm grip on the glass.
However, the trade-offs are clear when comparing this to adhesive options. This mount relies entirely on suction. Once you place it, it stays there until you manually release the lever or button to break the seal. It is not designed for frequent repositioning. If you take it off to clean your windshield, you must ensure the surface is perfectly clean before putting it back, or it will lose its hold. It is also not suitable for textured surfaces, which are common on some older vehicle dashboards or windshields with tinting issues. Furthermore, it does not include an adhesive backing for alternative mounting methods. If you need to mount this on a metal surface inside a garage, this suction cup alone will not work. It is a single-purpose tool for a single purpose: holding a dash cam on glass.
This product is for the driver who prioritizes safety and stability above all else. If you are worried about your expensive dash cam falling off during a sudden stop or hitting a bump, this is the choice. It is also for those who already own one of the compatible dash cam models mentioned. If you have a G1W or LS300W, this is likely the best mounting option available because it was made specifically for that hardware. It is not for someone looking to mount a phone or a tablet for navigation. The adapters provided are too small and specialized for general mobile devices. If you need a mount for your phone, this is the wrong tool for the job.
• Best for Reusability and Repositioning → iWill 360: The self-adhesive base allows you to move the mount from the garage wall to the car dashboard and back again without replacing the base or losing the bond.

• Best for Flexible Viewing Angles → Tie: Both offer 360-degree rotation, but the iWill adds a vertical 180-degree tilt, while the StumpTools focuses on multi-angle adjustment via a ball joint for road views.
• Best for Non-Glass Surfaces → iWill 360: The adhesive works on smooth walls, cabinets, and desks, whereas the StumpTools suction cup requires a perfectly smooth, non-porous glass surface to function.
• Best for Vibration Dampening → StumpTools Plastic Suction Cup: The large suction cup and anti-shake design are engineered specifically to counteract road vibrations, which is critical for video recording clarity.
• Best for Garage Storage Organization → iWill 360: Its ability to stick to vertical surfaces makes it ideal for holding phones or GPS units on garage shelves or pegboards for easy access.
In my opinion, if I were setting up a dedicated station for my phone or tablet in my garage to watch repair videos while working on projects, I would choose the iWill 360. The ability to reposition it easily and the heavy-duty construction make it far more practical for a storage environment where surfaces vary and devices change. However, if my goal was to secure a dash cam to my windshield for daily driving, I would unequivocally choose the StumpTools Plastic Suction Cup. The specific adapters and the temperature-resistant suction design address the exact failure points of generic mounts. For the specific use case of for garage storage where you need to hold a device securely on a wall or desk, the iWill 360 is the superior choice due to its versatility and adhesive durability.
No, the iWill 360 is a general-purpose ring holder for smartphones and tablets and does not include the specific mounting plates or adapters required for dash cam models like the G1W.
It is constructed from high-quality temperature-resistant plastic and PVC suction material, specifically designed to withstand temperature changes and remain stable even in hot climates.
