Participants staying in Santa Cruz de Tenerife can easily reach the meeting venue by bus or tram. From La Laguna’s central bus station (Intercambiador de La Laguna), the venue is a 3–5-minute walk away.
The closest airport to La Laguna is Tenerife North Airport (TFN). Most flight connections to TFN are via Madrid (MAD) or Barcelona (BCN). From TFN, the cities of La Laguna and Santa Cruz de Tenerife can be conveniently reached by public transportation (approx. €2.65) or taxi (La Laguna: ~€10; Santa Cruz: ~€30).
The Aeroexpress Bus 20 runs from TFN to La Laguna (Intercambiador de La Laguna) and to Santa Cruz (Intercambiador de Santa Cruz) in less than 15 and 30 minutes, respectively. The timetable for Bus 20 can be found here.
Tenerife South (TFS) is the island’s main airport and offers direct connections to many European cities, mostly operated by low-cost airlines. The airport is located on the opposite side of the island (73 km, about a 1-hour drive) and is connected to La Laguna via Bus 343, which links TFS with Tenerife North Airport (TFN).
Alternatively (and faster), you can take the express Bus 10 to Santa Cruz (every 30 minutes during the day, approx. €10), followed by the Tram (Tranvía) (every 5–15 minutes) or Bus 14 to La Laguna. A taxi from TFS to La Laguna takes about 1 hour and costs approximately €80–110.
You can find the TITSA (public transport company) timetables here for Bus 10 and here for Bus 343.
Bus schedules are also available via Google Maps.
From Tenerife North Airport (TFN), the fastest way to reach the workshop hotels is by taking Bus 20 to the Intercambiador de La Laguna (about 10 minutes). From there, you can either:
Take the Tram to La Trinidad (one stop) and walk about 7 minutes, or
Walk directly from the Intercambiador for about 15 minutes to reach Hotel Nivaria and La Laguna Gran Hotel, or about 20 minutes to Hotel Aguere.
From Tenerife South Airport (TFS), take Bus 10 to the Intercambiador de Santa Cruz (about 50 minutes), then the Tram (departing from Floor 0, outside the station) for another 35–40 minutes to La Trinidad.
Tickets for buses and the Tram (Tranvía) can be purchased from ticket machines located at the airports or at tram stations. Alternatively, tickets can be bought via a mobile app (registration required), available for download here.
There are several ticket options:
The cheapest option is the Bono 5 Viajes (available only in the app) for €2.50, which is valid for five journeys of your choice on the tram or bus within the La Laguna/Santa Cruz metropolitan area. This ticket can be purchased multiple times, one after another.
Another convenient option is the pay-as-you-go fare, with each tram or bus ride in the La Laguna/Santa Cruz area costing €1.25.
You can also buy and top up a travel card at the ticket machines.
