Īwá·lí (Ee-WÁH-lee) was created with one simple belief:
every girl deserves clarity, dignity, and confidence on her menstrual journey.
For too long, many girls in Africa have grown up with shame, silence, confusion, or fear around their cycles.
Some don’t have access to apps.
Some don’t have anyone to guide them.
Many still track their periods on scraps of paper, in their heads, or not at all.
Īwá·lí exists to change that — gently, simply, beautifully.
Īwá·lí was inspired by the traditional Bekwarra/Yala figure Iwali — the child queen.
A symbol of womanhood, purity, and dignity.
This story carries quiet strength.
It represents the transition into womanhood with honor, not shame.
It reminds us that a girl’s body is something to be understood, not hidden.
From this heritage, the idea for Īwá·lí was born:
create menstrual-care tools that speak to our culture, our realities, and our girls.
