thanks for sharing that, the IVONA voices sound great. If I understand correctly, after purchasing and installing the IVONA voice package you can simply select it from Windows text-to-speech voice packs interface, same as the Windows default voices? Did you ever use the 124thATC plugin ( ) for ATC and can you confirm if the IVONA voice package is working properly with this plugin?

By default windows already includes 2 or 3 different voices (male, female, etc.), you select them under the windows text to speech properties. This will affect xplane as well as any other application that requires to use the windows text to speech feature. i.e. microsoft word business app.

Hello all,

I know the answers to this question would be subjective, but I am still curious to hear them.

With all the various TTS voices available in the VoiceDream app, which ones do you personally consider as the best ones for reading fiction books? For example, I like James from Neospeech, but I feel he is more suited for reading articles and webpages, not so much for the content where more expression is required.

Frankly, I go for either Neospeech James or Ivona Brian. To me, those are the two most human sounding voices. I guess you know, but in case you don't, you can hear samples of all of the available voices within Voice Dream under the voice store in settings.

Like most of us, reading speed is important to me. I bought one of the Ivona voices for my 4th generation Touch, and while it sounds great in the sample, it cannot operate at the speeds I usually use for reading. The Neospeech voices go plenty fast for me. Until I upgrade to newer hardware, I won't be using Ivona.

One of my favorite voices is Neospeech Bridget. I find that she sounds pleasant, and has some expression. Other voices I like include Neospeech James and Julie, Ivona Amy and Salli, and Acapela Rachel, Tracy and Lucy.

The 2 non voice-over voices that i use are ivona Sally and acapela Sharon. But what i would like to see is a way to use either google tts or eloquence. I really like eloquence and i use it for voice dream for android. Id also like to see vocalizer zoe as well.

You did better than I did. I tried a less stringent version of the same tests on a non-flightsim PC but just with the Windows speech applet. I must admit, I gave up and didn't try a reboot. We are flying IFR here Pete, because we have no idea how the OS and apps load and unload those MinGW DLLs. There's a ton of stuff online about MinGW and DLL versions, mostly complaining about the same kind of problem. What I really don't understand is how does Little NavMap work alongside Cereproc voices and Speech2Go? It must have something to do with the order in which DLLs are found, called, loaded and unloaded.

I'm trying to do something I thought would be simple. I'm using nwjs (Formerly called Node-Webkit) which if you don't know basically means I'm developing a desktop app using Chromium & Node where the DOM is in the same scope as Node. I want to offload work to a webworker so that the GUI doesn't hang when I send some text off to Ivona Cloud (using ivona-node) which is a text to speech API. The audio comes back in chunks as it's generated and gets written to an MP3. ivona-node uses fs to write the mp3 to the drive. I got it working in the dom but webworkers are needed to not hang the UI. So I have two node modules I need to use in the webworker, ivona-node and fs.

The problem is that in a webworker you can't use require. So I tried packaging ivona-node and fs with browserify (There's a package called browserify-fs for this which I used) and replacing require with importScripts(). Now I'm getting var errors in the node modules.

Hi, I can not find the text to speech under more options , I am using a galaxy note 10.1 tablet, I only find that option on Control options, and when I assign a gesture or double tap or anything on it, it dose not save, I mean it dose not work and when I go back to control options it is not there anymore, there is no save button either, please help

I have been trying to have a text document read to me by Amy on either Moon Reader (I dont have the Moon Reader +) also using Cool Reader. I have also tried to create a Book myself with Pocket.

Is there anyway I can have my own Documents read out, also am I able to create a Book somehow.

I had the same problem you had. On fire sticks, the "ivona" tts engine is supported BUT there are no language packages loaded for it, and there doesn't seem to be a way to get the languages in. So TTS initializes OK, but fails when you call setLanguage().

HOWEVER, Amazon devices (at least the tablet and fire stick that I have) have 2 speech synthesizers in them -- "ivona" and "svox". And while the "ivona" default engine does not work on fire stick, the "svox" engine does. So when you are initializing TTS, use the other engine:

@mike.maxwell is that an accurate understanding of how the Chromecast Integration app works? If so, I would like to request the ability to upload an audio file in place of text to be sent to the speakers. I know you guys are working like crazy and probably have a nice long list of to-dos, but now I'm thinking of sound clips like @signal15 has. Btw, great job on the app. It was so easy to implement and it works great.

Put it very simply; it is my opinion that it might be the best and easiest way to have an app that sends TTS requests and receives speech (either in terms of speech files or speech URLs) from a web service like IVONA Speech Cloud. Then the user would not have to install the IVONA TTS Speech Engine including several voices.

I purchased an android device for my son who has severe dyslexia and ADHD. We then installed Evernote as it looks like the perfect tool for organizing study material for class - except for one thing. It does not offer text to speech. We use the keyboard app to do speech to text so that part is not an issue. Later, however, when he is studying his outlines and notes and reviewing clippings, his reading disability gets in the way of accurately reading what he put in there. Even if text to speech was only one word at a time, it would help him to hear at least the words he is struggling with. Then again, wouldn't text to speech help anyone who uses Evernote to study? It would certainly open up more possibilities of where, how and when they can be studying.

I use text-to-speech on an Android phone. The best solution I have found is to install IVONA Text-To-Speech with IVONA Amy UK English Voice (for US there is the Kendra Voice). It is free in Google Play Store.

PollyTTS is a TTS voice service for Openhab 2.x utilizing a Internet based TTS service provided by amazon called Polly. Polly includes multiple life like voices for a given languages. Can now select different voices within rules depending on the message context.

As you can see above, the English language can be challenging, however, it's far from the most difficult language to learn. With a bit of study, and some practice, almost anyone can learn English. One of the best ways to learn the language is to find a friend who speaks English, and is willing to have conversations with you. This will help you immerse yourself in the language and pick up on the nuances, and speech patterns of English. With a bit of practice, you'll soon be speaking English like it's your native language.

The Ivona is a text to speech software, and it is a part of the Amazon group. Ivona text to speech HQ became a part of Amazon in 2013, and it was immediately integrated with devices such as Amazon Kindle. Over the years, Ivona became one of the most popular TTS engines and an important aspect of accessibility tools.

Like all text to speech programs, Ivona text to speech works by reading text on the computer (whether that be a document, webpage, email, etc.) and turning it into human speech that you can listen to. The voice is powered by artificial intelligence (AI), which has been programmed through machine learning to accurate replicate human speech.

Many APIs have used Ivona as a basis, and today, you can find numerous text to speech (TTS) apps that are based on the original one. The program is still used by many brands, but the original one was discontinued in favor of Amazon Polly. Amazon Polly is the current TTS service you can find on Amazon devices and platforms.

These algorithms, part of the Ivona Speech Cloud, take into account not only the individual sounds of words but also the way they are pronounced in context. By understanding the nuances of language and using advanced wifi capabilities for seamless integration, Ivona is able to produce speech that is not only accurate but also natural-sounding.

What sets Ivona apart from other text-to-speech solutions is its rich feature set. With a vast repertoire of voices available in multiple languages and accents, Ivona provides unparalleled diversity and customization options. Whether you prefer a soothing female voice or a commanding male voice, Ivona has a voice that suits every need.

Even before Ivona TTS, there have been numerous apps designed with a similar purpose. And as the popularity of these tools grew, many brands and companies also started experimenting with text to speech tools.

Speechify is easily one of the best apps you can find today if you are looking for a text-to-speech tool with natural-sounding voices. The app is easy to use thanks to the intuitive interface, and you can use it on Android, iOS, Windows, and nearly any device.

The speech engine is also equipped with OCR, and it will allow you to turn even physical pages into audio files. If you are looking for an all-around TTS app that will read any type of text format, the best answer is Speechify. Try it today and discover the true potential of text-to-speech! ff782bc1db
