I have a customer that have been requesting new cameras additions to his Hikvision 8MP 32 CH TVI/IP hybrid DVR, I have installed a whole bunch of 8MP IP cameras lately and now he is at a point that he has 33 cameras installed but just noticed that the IVMS-4500 app, the app that he uses to see his cameras remotely only allows a maximum of 32 cameras selected at once, I had to have him uncheck one other cameras before he was able to see the last of the latest cameras I just installed on his phone.

Are there any other compatible apps that would allow having checked more than 32 cameras at once? Does hik-connect allows more than 32 cameras to be selected at once? I haven't tried hik-connect but my take would be that it probably have the same limitations as IVMS-4500. If not, are there any other app that I can use that is compatible with HikVision NVR's that would allow more than 32 cameras?

/Edit (update) I have moved this user to Hik-Connect. The Hik-Connect app is a direct replacement to the older IVMS-4500 app that has been retired by Hikvision and will never be updated to support more than 32 concurrent cameras. The Hik-Connect app does support more than 32 cameras as a commenter had previously mentioned here. Only issue was getting this customer used to the new user interface after years of consistently having used the previous UI.

I am using the Hikvision 4 port NVR with (2) 2332 cameras. I can view video fine on the tv that the NVR is hooked up to and I can also go to hik-online which uses the ip address of the NVR and see video,configure settings,etc. I can not get the IVMS-4200/4500 software to work on the pc of my android device though.

No you wouldn't use it for the DNS Server. You really don't have to have the DNS Server part filled. Do you have your Static IP of your internet, if not than you can go to myipaddress.com and use that in your ivmx app on your smart phone. and where it says port in the phone app, makes sure you are using your SDK Port number
