Dr. Jong Taek Lee is an Assistant Professor at the School of Computer Science and Engineering, Kyungpook National University (Daegu, South Korea), where he leads the Vision & Intelligent Systems Lab. His research focuses on intelligent visual computing—spanning computer vision, deep learning, video surveillance, action and posture recognition, smart cities, rehabilitation systems, face privacy/anonymization, and security-aware AI systems. Dr. Lee earned his B.S. from KAIST, followed by an M.S.E. and Ph.D. (2012) in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin under Prof. J. K. Aggarwal. From 2012 to early 2022, he served as a senior researcher at ETRI. He also spent 2020–2021 as a Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore under Prof. Jun Han.

He has published in leading international conferences and journals, including ACM Computing Surveys, CVPR, ICML, UBICOMP, ACCV, and AVSS. Dr. Lee actively contributes to the academic community as an organizing committee member for AVSS, guest editor for the ETRI Journal, and reviewer for prestigious conferences and journals such as MICCAI, ACM MM, CoRL, BMVC, and Pattern Recognition.
