The Richard Publow Memorial Awards in Writing reward the best essays written during each school year in English Composition courses (0900/lab, 1001, and 1002).
Our English-faculty judges will evaluate all essays and will recognize the award-winning submissions during the Spring Recognition Ceremony. In addition, third-place winners receive $25, second-place winners earn $50, and first-place winners receive $75.
The submission period for 2025 will open February 15. Essays must be submitted via Brightspace.

Results will be posted via Brightspace announcement in spring 2026.
Winners will be notified via Brightspace announcement, email, and snail mail in the spring semester following submission, and will receive an invitation to IVCC's academic awards ceremony. If a winner cannot attend the ceremony, their certificate and prize will be mailed to them.
