Curriculum Vitae Ivan Ojeda-Ruiz.pdf

I am a Senior Lecturer of mathematics at Texas State University. I’m originally from Puerto Rico and I have interest in many fields including music, art, science, philosophy and even a little bit of politics. I obtained my Ph.D. degree from University of Texas at Arlington in the Summer of 2017. I have done research as an undergraduate student in many different fields. I did research in geometry, experimental mathematics, number theory, group theory, human computer interaction and in chemistry. If you want to know about my academic progress, please look at my Curriculum Vitae.

As I said, I have interest in many fields other than Mathematics. I consider anything I do outside of the mathematics world as a hobby. Drawing has been one of my passions since I was a kid and I still love doing it. I also learned to dance salsa when I was at high school and I still enjoy it, as well as some other forms of dance. I know how to play the guitar and I’ve been learning to play the cuatro (A string instrument national from Puerto Rico). I also like to run, I have completed a half-marathon a few years ago. I also play video games competitively, particularly Super Smash Bros. Melee, I have traveled several times to compete at national level.

I’d like to thank my family and friends for the motivation they represent in my life. I love them all, especially my mother. She is the one person that’s always been there for me. Without her none of my achievement would have been possible to this day. I’m always counting the days to go back to Puerto Rico and see her again.
