Ivan Frankovic

I am a Senior Economist at the Deutsche Bundesbank, working in the Balance of Payments, Exchange Rates and Capital Market Division. 

Previously, I worked at European Central Bank in the area of international projections and scenario analysis (2023-2024), at the Deutsche Bundesbank on climate change risks (2020-2023) and at the Ministry of Finance in Norway, where I developed the fiscal policy analysis model NORA (2017-2020).

I received my doctoral degree from the Economic Department at the Vienna University of Technology in 2017.

My research interests lie in

• International economics

• Economics of climate change (mitigation)

• Fiscal and Health Economics

I have published in the European Economic Review, Journal of Health Economics, The Energy Journal, Journal of Macroeconomics, as well as Economic Modelling among others.

I have served as a reviewer for European Economic Review, Energy Economics, International Tax and Finance, as well as Climate Policy among others.
