The 2026 Inter-University Workshop invites students and researchers to submit abstracts showcasing research, works in progress, and emerging ideas across human factors, design, and related disciplines.

Call for Abstracts

We invite submissions of completed, ongoing, and proposed research in:

• Healthcare

• Artificial Intelligence

• Transportation

• Human Factors

Submissions are open to students from all departments and universities.

Abstract Length: The abstract must be between 200 and 500 words and must not exceed 5,000 characters (including spaces).

Topic Tracks

Authors are invited to submit abstracts aligned with one of the following tracks:

• Healthcare

• Artificial Intelligence

• Transportation and Mobility

If your work spans multiple tracks, please select the track that best reflects the primary focus or application context of your submission.

Presentation Formats & Expected Structure

Authors may indicate their preferred presentation format from the options below:

Oral Presentations
Oral presentations are 7 minutes total, consisting of 5 minutes for the presentation followed by 2 minutes of questions and discussion. This format is intended for well-developed research projects or completed studies. Presentations should clearly outline the research problem, approach or methodology, key findings, and implications.

Pitch Sessions
Pitch sessions are 2-minute, high-impact presentations designed for early-stage research ideas, ongoing work, or exploratory concepts. Presentations should concisely communicate the motivation, core idea, research question, and potential impact, without requiring full results.

Poster Presentations
Poster presentations support in-depth, informal discussion with conference attendees and are suitable for both completed research and work in progress. Posters should present the context, approach, and key insights or preliminary findings in a visually clear and engaging manner.

Please note that while authors may indicate a preferred presentation format, submissions may be accepted for a different presentation format than requested. However, submissions selecting Poster Presentation will be considered for poster presentations only.

The submission deadline is August 21 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT).

Authors will be notified of acceptance by September 10, 2026.
