My first walkie-talkie (Mulino Bianco):

Hi guys, I'm Domenico IU7OXM, 43 years old, from the city of Trani, Puglia, Italy. QTH JN81EG.

I was introduced to the world of radio at a young age; there was always one in the house. Then, with the famous pair of Mulino Bianco walkie-talkies (a bonus gift from a famous Italian children's snack company), I listened to truck drivers on CB radio, as well as QRM during communications with my older brother, and I've been fascinated ever since.

In 2013, I discovered the famous USB TV stick, with a Realtek 2832u chip and the SDRsharp software, and I tinkered with it for days, losing sleep and time, trying to figure out how it worked, eventually my first homemade Calla antenna for 2m, which I enjoyed listening to.

I've been on the air since 2021, obtaining my license, callsign, and general authorization, with exam exemption, thanks to my diploma as a Technical Expert in Electronics and Telecommunications obtained in 2001 at the O. JANNUZZI Technical Institute in Andria.

I can only do indoor SWL, with my Yaesu FT-991A and my 40-watt MLA S Magnetic Loop (10-80m). Due to rude and brain-damaged residents, I cannot mount antennas of any kind on the roof of the building.

I can only communicate via a VHF/UHF antenna, a D-ORIGINAL X-30-NW 350 WATT - 130 cm, mounted on the balcony on the first floor, facing south, towards Bari, with a maximum VHF transmission range of about ten kilometers.

Still with the X-30-NW, I can modulate in DMR with my Radioddity DB-25D Pro Dual Band GPS, thanks to the BRANDMEISTER repeater from my friend Amedeo IU7JYJ.
