1. Asan Bay Overlook (War in the Pacific National Park)

According to the website  Asan Bay Overlook was completed in 1994 in conjunction with the 50th Anniversary commemoration of the Liberation of Guam, Asan Bay Overlook serves as a memorial to those that lost their lives or suffered atrocities during the war. This unit features beautiful views of the sea-side villages of Asan and Piti and a perspective of the landing beaches used by Marines during the battle. The Asan Bay Overlook includes landscaped walkways, established view sheds, and several commemorative bronze sculptures which depict the events on Guam during the World War II Japanese occupation and battle in 1944.

2. Adelup - governor's complex 

According to the website, the governor's complex was built was May 2010 in addition to the latte of freedom. The Governor Ricardo J. Bordallo complex known as adelup point, is a nice stop-off on an island tour,. The point offers great views of coastline, as well as historical cannons.

3. Ft Apugan - The fort, now commonly called Fort Apugan, provides a commanding view of the capital village of Hagåtña, the Philippine Sea, and the sheer northern clifflines of Oka Point and Urunao Point. The fort is also in a prime location to study the northern topography of the island with its raised limestone plateau.Feb 7, 2023

4. Plaza de Espana - 

One of the island’s most famous landmarks, Plaza de Espana, represents the Spanish occupation of Guam, and features several original structures dating back three centuries.

 

Located across the Guam Museum and next to the Dulce Nombre de Maria Cathedral Basilica, the Plaza de Espana complex is rich in history and key to Guam’s civic activities.

 

Originally constructed in 1736, the original name, Plaza de Magalahes, was later changed to Plaza de Espana. During the Spanish occupation, the main structure in the complex was known as Casa Govierno, meaning Governor’s Palace.

5. Two Lovers point -

 5. Two lovers point -The cape was named by the Spanish, Cabo de los Amantes (Lovers' Cape), now known as Puntan Dos Amantes (Two Lover's Point). After visiting Guam in 1819 Freycinet used the two lover's story to emphasize the indelible connection between marriage and the traditional caste system in Chamorro society

6.  South Pacific Memorial Park - The South Pacific Memorial Park was built to commemorate the American and Japanese soldiers and Guam residents who died in World War II. On the east side of the park are the 4 military camp caves of the Japanese army during World War II, which are now open to the general public; on the west side, there is a church-style Buddhist hall, which not only houses the relics of World War II, but also worships the gods and saves the dead; The main building is a white monument of about 15.24 meters. The unique shape of the folded hands represents a deep prayer for the deceased, reminding the world to cherish and maintain world peace. The original site of the Memorial Park was actually a headquarters of the Japanese army during World War II. The Japanese commander, Hideyoshi Obata, once commanded operations here. It was also one of the more intense battlefields at the end of World War II. There is also a church-style Buddhist hall in the park. In addition to the relics of World War II, it is also used to worship the gods and save the dead.

Areas such as performance and productivity standards. performance deals with how well  work is accomplished while productivity deals with the amount of time it takes to complete tasks . The average number of rooms housekeeping staffs clean are 16 rooms a day. performance and productivity are to be balanced because it is to meet hotel standards.

2. List the correct sequence of steps for guestroom cleaning. (8.3 #3)

The sequence of guestroom cleaning occurs in three steps :

Step 1:  Prepare to clean :  make sure you have all the  cleaning equipment you need to use.

 Step 2 : Clean Guestroom : first made the bed because, the bed is what the guest would first look at it. then after that check the bathroom. 

 Step 3 : Check Guestroom Condition ; take a double look at the guestroom to see you didn't miss anything.

3. Summarize what are the 3 most important things you learned from this Housekeeping chapter.

I learned about the different positions in the housekeeping department, such as housekeeping manager, Floor Supervisor.. etc. I learned about the 2 housekeeping standards which is performance and productivity . I also learned about managing inventories and what they do. I learned about the guestrooms cleaning basics steps, such as, starting with the bed first because it is the main view of the room.
