My research focuses on uncovering the earliest behavioural and neural markers and mechanisms of language development in neurotypical infants and infants with a family history of autism. Through longitudinal eye-tracking and EEG studies, I examine how early perceptual and attentional processes support language development across the first two years of life.
My work addresses audiovisual speech processing in infancy, early neural and behavioural markers of word learning in toddlerhood, and early markers that may act as sex-specific protective and risk factors for language development in infants at elevated likelihood for autism. My long-term goal is to generate translational evidence that informs early identification and intervention strategies, supporting autistic children and their families.
