Headmaster approached us during summer for help to improve infrastructure, add facilities and skill their students. Since then we are helping this school in Sutarwadi, Pashan, Pune that serves 8th-9th-10th grade students from low-income communities in the neighborhood.
They had managed to construct three new classrooms but needed lights and fans. We did a collection drive appealing to people who were renovating their homes to give away their good-condition tube lights and fans. We were able to fulfill that requirement before the school reopened.
When the new academic session began, our focus was students. We wanted to find the gaps in their learning and help them in the best possible ways. Career counseling for 10th graders and calligraphy workshop for 8th graders were organized. Building relationships to understand their needs.
We asked students, what did they want to learn, their response was, "Talk in English like You!"
Together we will work to make their aspirations come true!
