Visit your Counseling and Wellness Center at Herricks High School for additional support in school! You can contact your school social workers, psychologists, and guidance counselors by email and phone, as well.


What is a school social worker? Trained mental health professionals at school, who are here to support your well being. We are safe, trusted adults that you can come to whenever you need help and guidance. We are on your side, rooting for you to succeed in school! We are supports and advocates for your emotional, social, academic and safety needs in school. We are also integral links between school, home, and the community. You may see us in individual, group or school-wide sessions. We can coordinate with your teachers, parents, and community resources, to help you feel your best.


Why would someone see our school social workers? Reasons to see your school social workers may include: having difficulties adjusting to recent life changes, mental health and behavior changes, academic pressure, coping with stress, difficulties socializing, grief, COVID-19 stressors, loss of basic needs (food, clothing, etc.), difficulties regularly participating in academics, friendship stress, and many more. I am here to listen to you, help you recognize your strengths, and teach you helpful tools to cope with stress. We are in this together. Asking for help is a sign of strength.
