LTI is short for Learning Tools Interoperability and allows for seamless connection of web-based applications and content hosted in other platforms. As an itslearning user, you can use LTI integration to connect apps that support LTI. While itslearning does not supply the apps, it facilitates their use in the platform.

With total implementations at around 50 in the United States, maintaining US operations was probably too costly for the European education company. So, I'm working with a client who is in need of migrating courses from itslearning to a custom Moodle 2.6 instance. I've received IMS CC's from them and tried to import to Moodle and received at first an error that said "The selected file is not a valid Moodle backup file and can't be restored." Then I ran the package through the IMS Global Test System and re-imported to Moodle, but still experienced issues. First, "The selected file is not a standard Moodle backup file. The restore process will try to convert the backup file into the standard format and then restore it" message appears, I continue, and then I get either multiple errors or fatal errors involving problems with 'version' or 'metadata' or 'organization,' etc. I've tried to edit the manifest.xml file to include the proper header outlined in the first post linked above (with no success).

Configure and test Microsoft Entra SSO with itslearning using a test user called B.Simon. For SSO to work, you need to establish a link relationship between a Microsoft Entra user and the related user in itslearning.

To configure single sign-on on itslearning side, you need to send the downloaded Federation Metadata XML and appropriate copied URLs from the application configuration to itslearning support team. They set this setting to have the SAML SSO connection set properly on both sides.

In this section, you create a user called Britta Simon in itslearning. Work with itslearning support team to add the users in the itslearning platform. Users must be created and activated before you use single sign-on.

Itslearning (stylized itslearning) is a digital learning management system (LMS) developed by Norwegian company Itslearning AS. Designed for both K12 and higher education, the itslearning LMS allows teachers to deliver learning materials to students, including assessments, Office 365 documents, and other educational content.

The itslearning LMS was created by a group of students at Bergen University College in 1998 as a project on the topic of "virtual classrooms".[1][2] A council of educators inquired about the platform's feasibility, and once awarded a grant by the College, itslearning was established the following year. Bergen University College became the system's first user.[1][2] The company was first established as "it:solutions".[1]

In 2004, Arne Bergby became CEO of itslearning.[1] An American office was opened in 2009 in Massachusetts.[1] itslearning acquired SkoleIntra in 2013 and Fronter in 2015.[1] In 2014, 40% of the company was sold to the Swedish private equity fund EQT. The company at the time was valued at 600 million NOK ($73 million).[2]

The system is an arena for communication and cooperation, as well as a tool for administration, evaluation and follow-up. itslearning is specially adapted for schools, and enables publishing of subject schedules, and individual or group messages (as to a class). In project assignments, students can create groups where files may be uploaded, or ideas discussed. It is also possible to create and publish tests and competitions in the system. Assignments may be published with or without a deadline, and hand-ins may be uploaded digitally, with options for grading the hand-in digitally and displaying the assessment to the student. There is also access to ePortfolio, which gives students a concrete end-of-year presentation of their accomplishments.

itslearning has millions of active users worldwide, mainly in the United States, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, France and Germany.[2]Over 900.000 users exist in Norway alone.[4]

In May 2020, itslearning became the leading learning management system in higher education in Denmark after the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) selected itslearning as their new learning management system for 45,000 users following a rigorous tender process that involved several large and well-established LMS providers.[5] itslearning also supports teaching and learning at University College Copenhagen, VIA University College, University College Lilleblt, University College Southern Denmark, University College Absalon and several other higher educational institutions in Denmark.

Several US school districts use itslearning as a school platform, including Houston Independent School District, Savannah-Chatham County Public School System, Spring Branch Independent School District, Forsyth County Schools, and Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation.

Evaluations of itslearning indicate that its users were satisfied with the system. A survey carried out in 2003 showed that a high percentage of users at Bergen University College were pleased with the system.[6] In 2010, A second survey, carried out in conjunction with a Master's degree project, showed that 67% of students at different faculties at Norwegian University of Science and Technology and Sr-Trndelag University College are satisfied or very satisfied with itslearning.[7] However, another survey also carried out at Norwegian University of Science and Technology in 2013 showed a multitude of issues both students and teachers were dissatisfied with.[8]

If you only need to move your quiz and question bank, you can try using getmarked. Our schools uses it to import questions from Word but it seems like they also support itslearning based on what i can see on their website.

I attended a webinar on the latest releases including the copy course V2. It was mentioned that it worked with Learning Management Systems with LTI. We use Panopto in a close integration with the LMS itslearning that is the biggest in Europe - and has LTI integration. How come itslearning is not on your list when implementing the copy course V2?

Course copy V2 is currently not available for LMS that integrate with Panopto using BLTI such as itslearning. Basic LTI provides a standard way to integrate external learning tools, using a directional permissions push from the LMS to Panopto. Though some may refer to this as SSO, it is actually where user information, including their rights and permissions, is passed to the Panopto application from the LMS tool link. This allows us to connect to a wide variety of different LMS, but more complex options such as video copy per course would require a custom integration application.

I want to auto login to a website (itslearning.com) and then display it in my Windows Forms Application with CefSharp.It would be easy to do this with itslearning eLogin ( _Sign-On_and_Authentication.html#284208891), but unfortunately my school doesn't support it.Is there any other way to automatically login to my schools itslearning page?May be save the login cookies? Or doing the same thing as the itslearning native app for mobile phones. The app uses OAuth2 for authentication. When you click on a link in the app (e.g. for the Dashobard) it opens the browser and you are automatically logged in.

With the course overview tab, students can quickly see their current plans, their task list and the latest changes in a course. This way you can communicate with your students in Microsoft Teams, using for example posts and online meetings while giving them access to current course content via the course overview tab. Use itslearning to manage to contents of this tab.

You can add this tab to an existing team, but it is also possible to automatically create a team for each itslearning course with this tab included. Administrators need to add the Azure app 'itslearning MS Teams sync' and connect the itslearning site to their tenant in itslearning (Admin > Edit global settings > Cloud settings > Microsoft).
