Your child is not required to wear make-up. The goal is that they look like they do off stage, but since the lights wash them out make-up truly helps their features stand out. 

When everyone has stage make-up on and beautifully made up it helps them feel better as a collective group and builds a sense of pride.  What you will notice is that on stage your children will not look like they have lots of make-up on.  You will see their features and contouring.  We want your children to look like children.  The only reason we want make-up is so they won’t look washed out on stage.  This will enhance your ability to see their features. 

Furthermore, we encourage natural beauty and you’ll often hear me say in class, “I need a beautiful dancer right here”, when helping them find their space in class so they learn to claim their beauty every day!  We teach them that they don't even need ballet to be beautiful . . .  they are beautiful already and the heart of what they share matters most!
