"Pioneer of Textiles in the Pakistan"; Dr. Ahmad Niaz was associated with Synthetic Fibre Development & Application Center, Karachi, Pakistan as Textile Professor. He was also part-time Textile Research Head, Department of Textile Science, Indus University, Karachi, Pakistan.
He graduated in chemistry and physics from Govt. College, Lahore in the per-independence days in 1947. After getting an M.Sc. degree in Chemical Engineering, he joined the Govt. Weaving & Finishing Centre at shahdara and served there as Principal and General Manager. He won a Colombo plan scholarship to study in Manchester College of Science & Technology where he got M.Sc. (Tech) degree in 1957, under the supervision of (late) Mr. H.A. Turner. In 1961, the west Pakistan Govt. deputed him to set up the first Textile degree college in the country at Faisalabad. In 1972, he got Ph.D. degree in Textile Chemistry from the Leeds University, working with (late) Professor Whewell, Head of the Textile Department.
In 1976, he was selected as Co-Manager of a UNIDO sponsored Textile Research & Development project in Karachi, which he got converted into the Pakistan’s first Textile industry Research & Development Centre in 1980. He served as Director of TIRDC, Textile Commissioner & Secretary of the Textile section of 7th 5-years development plan for Pakistan, before retiring in 1989.He has written many Textile articles at National level. He has also written 40 papers in international textile journals like Textile Research Journal (USA), Journal of Society of Dyers and Colourists , Textile Horizon (U.k.) and Textile Asia (Hong Kong)., & got 2 patents (one purchased) and co-authored about 100 consultancy reports. In addition, he has written 3 books on the subject of Textile Chemistry, all books are included in the syllabus of Textile Sciences/Engineering. After retirement, he worked as Textile consultant and prepared feasibility studies for setting up the Textile Engineering Department at NED University of Engineering & Technology, and teaching and training institutes for the Towel Manufacturing Association and Knitwear Association of Pakistan. As a consultant, he also prepared the feasibility studies for setting up various Textile dyeing and finishing mills. At the same time, he worked as a representative of a U.S Textile importing firm, as an expert for the board of Revenue to re-evaluate customs drawback on the textile exports and part time teacher in a Textile college.
He has supervised BS/BE & MS/ME Textile Students in numbers of Textile theses/projects, and many of projects got international publications & supported Textile industry of Pakistan. His support for Textile Education/Community is enormous, worthy and Incredible.
Dr. Muhammad Hanif Memon, A former Textile Professor, Department of Textile Science at Indus University, Karachi, Pakistan. Now a days, he is providing consulting services to academics & industry & holds a position as a Chief Associate, TEXCON (Textile Consulting Service), Karachi , Pakistan. He is one of the pioneers in the field of Textile wet processing who has very vast experience (more than 30 years) in Textile academics & Textile industry. He had been CEO at SFDAC ( Synthetic Fibre Development & Application Center ) for one year. He has been associated with various textile institutions of sindh, Pakistan as visiting professor.
After doing a master degree in Analytical Chemistry in 1977, his immediate appointment as lecturer at the university of Sindh later earned him a Professorship in 1998; meanwhile doing a Ph.D. from University of Hull, UK in 1988 in the field of organized surfactant systems & their application. He has been teaching textile processing to graduate and postgrduate students of textile science and engineering programs after doing his doctorate in the said field. He has also delivered a number of popular lectures on; newer textile developments, world textile scenario, status & scope of textile in the Pakistan; at various well reputed institutions of higher education in pakistan. He Contributed in the design of the Master of Textile Engineering programme at Mehran University of Engineering & Technology, Jamshoro, Pakistan. He designed & Implemented the Master of Textiles programme at Indus University. He has many international publications mainly in Textile finishing. He organized & participated in many national & international conferences. He has supervised number of students of bachelor & master in different textile research projects. He has been involved to serve the Textile industry as a Textile Consultant for more than 20 years. He worked on modifications, cost optimization & process control in various Textile wet processes including printing, finishing & waste water treatment plants and got success in these industrial projects.
He is member of Society of Dyers & Colourists, Royal Society of Chemistry, European Network of Lateritic Weathering and Global Environment (EUROLET)& he is a life member of Chemical Society of Pakistan. He is associated, as expert, with the external audit team of a Belgium company for ISO standardization of Textile mills in Pakistan. He has remained working with US Dreams Inc. USA; Lucky tex and GS Industries, Pakistan as technical Advisor & Technical director respectively for the last ten years.
Dr. Tanveer Hussain is a Rector of National Textile University (NTU), Faisalabad, Pakistan. Additionally, He also serves Textile Department as a Professor. He is HEC recognized Ph.D supervisor. He is very young, passionate, dynamic & enthusiastic personality in the field of Textiles. At the same time, He is teaching to Master of Textile Science students as a Professor & supervising in their projects. He possesses about 112 International publications & 30 National publications on various topics including Technical Textiles, Finishing, Printing & Dyeing. He was nominated with Best Paper of the Year: Research Journal of Textile & Apparel, Hong Kong. (2009). He has written a monograph on cotton processing which is published by Journal of Textile Institute, England. He participated & contributed in various national & international conferences as Presenter, Chairman. He completed his Ph.D. in Textile Engineering from Heriot-Watt University, Scotland, England in 2004.
He has been awarded three research grants from the Higher Education Commission, Pakistan. He got first Gold Medal in FSc from Ministry of Education, Punjab(1991), Pakistan. He graduated with Gold Medal in the discipline of Bachelor of Science in Textile Engineering from University of Engg. & Technology Lahore, Pakistan in 1996. He has been serving at National Textile University, Faisalabad, Pakistan at various positions including Chairman Department of Textile Processing and Incharge Academics. He has got Best University teacher Award from the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. Society of Dyers & Colorists UK has also awarded him Medal for his contributions in the Textile field & finally based on his painstaking work for education, he was awarded by Bronze Medal ‘for dedicated service to education in Pakistan’ 2010.
Apart from his enormous support for Textile education, he loves & likes to spread the knowledge of Islam by writing Articles & Reports. He has written many literature on Islam, The Quran, Human rights etc. The website The Quranic Teachings shows his great interest in the religion Islam. Recently, he has also developed a new website "The Textile Think Tank " which got much popularity among textile experts.

Dr. Zeeshan Khatri is an Associate Professor, Textile Engineering Department, Mehran University of Engineering & Technology (MUET), Jamshoro, Pakistan. At the same time, he is also leading Nanomaterials Research Group, as Principal Investigator MUET. Jamshoro, Pakistsan. He has vast Dual-functional perspective, Industry & Academia. He possesses about 60 international publications, an has cumulative impact factor 66. He has done Ph.D. Eng. in Nano Technology from Shinshu University, Ueda, Nagano, Japan. He passed Master in Engineering in Textile Engineering from Mehran University of Engineering & Technology in 2010. He graduated in Textile Engineering from the same university in 2000.
He started his career in Textile Research & Development from Yunus Textile Mills and served for two years; then he joined Institute of Textile Technology & Management, Karachi as a Head, Department of Textile Technology. In early 2004, he joined lucky Tex Mills, where he served as Technical Manager for two years. In addition, there are 18 industrial and specialized trainings which he has received during his career. He had been Managing Associate in TEXCON, Textile Consulting Service and had been provided consultation at GS Industries Karachi from 2005 to 2008.
Apart from his qualifications, he has professional qualifications of Ctext ATI, Manchester UK and CCol ASDC, Bradford UK. In 2004, the Society of Dyers & Colorists UK awarded him with president's Diploma of Honour for the most meritorious performance in their association examinations. He has honor of establishing SDC-Karachi region & of being a founder chairman in 2004-2005. He is also SDC Ambassador.

Dr. Awais Khatri is an Associate Professor, Textile Engineering Department, Mehran University of Engineering & Technology (MUET), Jamshoro, Pakistan. He did his Bachelors of Engineering from MUET in 2003 having a Silver Medal for the meritorious academic achievements. After graduation, he joined Gul Ahmed Textile Mills Ltd Karachi as Management Trainee then promoted as Technical Coordinator (Dyeing Production). Simultaneously in 2004, he started teaching at Institute of Textile Technology and Management Karachi as a visiting faculty. He has been with MUET since late 2004, and joined as a Lecturer. In 2007, he went to RMIT University Australia for PhD on meritorious scholarship under Faculty Development Program of MUET. On return, Dr. Khatri joined MUET back in 2010. Later, he was promoted as Assistant Professor in 2011 then Associate Professor in 2013.
Additionally, he appeared in the professional examinations of the Society of Dyers and Colourists Bradford UK and obtained the ‘Diploma in Colouration’ in 2006. And, during his PhD studies in 2009, he was awarded with the Charted Textile Technologist (CText ATI) title of the Textile Institute Manchester UK.
His research interests are focused at Textile Colouration, Textile Functional Finishing and Coating, Environmentally Sustainable Textile Processing, Nonwovens Product Development, and Medical Textiles. 20 peer-reviewed research publications, two international book chapters and four local books are in his credit. He has participated and attended around 55 conferences, seminars, workshops and exhibitions so far. And, he has been awarded with 9 travel grants, 6 by Higher Education Commission Pakistan and 3 by RMIT University Australia, for participating at various international conferences and a training course.

Dr. Mazhar Hussain Peerzada is working as Chairman Textile Engineering Department, Mehran University of Engineering & Technology, Jamshoro, Pakistan. He has completed his Ph.D. in Textile 3D Weaving from University of Manchester, England in 2012. He received his bachelor of Engineering in the discipline of Textile Engineering from Mehran University of Engineering & Technology, Jamshoro, Pakistan in 2003. M. Moosa AR Khan is working as an Asst. Manager in Knit Dyeing & Finishing as recently promoted from the position of Incharge Finishing Department, he has been working here since 2011, Lucky Textile Mills, Karachi, Pakistan. He is former Lecturer of Dyeing & Finishing, Textile Department of Indus Technical College. He is also enrolled in Master of Textiles, NED University of Engineering & Technology. He received his Bachelor of Textile Science degree (Silver Medalist) from Indus University in 2010. He passed DAE in Textile Wet processing from Indus Technical College in 2005. Before joining AKTM, he served as Junior Incharge Finishing Department, Lucky Textile Mills, Karachi, Pakistan for 1 year 2015-2016. During this period, he got first position from Afroze textile Industries to represent as a first position research student among all textile industries and then in 2011, he joined Yunus Textile Mills as Manager R & D due to many successes in the research and development, cost benefit analysis, heat recovery and cost optimization projects from greige to finish and where he is nominated as IKEA customer member. He is also nominated in the motivation program to involve the employees in fruitful environment like presentation and drastic happening about chemicals and disasters. Hasib us Salam, a former senior lecturer, Department of Textile Science, Indus University, Karachi, Pakistan. Now a days, he is associated with largest Retailer, Wal-mart, as a Senior Fabric & Color Technologist in raw material team, Bangladesh & after getting promotion from Wal-mart , Pakistan. He belongs to dual-functional perspective, Industry & Academia. He graduated in discipline of Bachelor of Science in Textile Science from Textile Institute of Pakistan (TIP). He is also enrolled in Master of Textiles, Indus University. He organized & participated in many national & international conferences & seminars. He has supervised numbers of textile projects, theses and many of them got success at industrial level. He is also senior adviser of ITRC.
In academia, he is known as "Passionate Teacher". He had been Head of Department of Textile Science, Indus University for about 6 years, from 2004-2010. While possessing the position of HOD Textile Science Department, he has been teaching in Department of Textile Science on various subjects including, Dyeing of Natural Fibre, Dyeing of synthetic Fibre, Fundamentals of dyeing & Textile pretreatment since 2004, and due to his teaching passion it is continue yet. In addition, he has an experience of textile wet processing for knitted goods right from the knitting till finish product, including knitting, dyeing, printing, finishing, cut and sew. He has been working as an Assistant Processing Manager at a socks manufacturing company earlier in the career then join Al-karam group for their knit processing department. He was pioneer member of the department, was involved from plant installation till execution. He served as an Asst Manager, Deputy Processing Manager and left the job in March 2012 as a QC & R & D Manager. He has served a textile processing mill as a GM-Processing. .

Syed Kaiser Rizvi, former lecturer, Department of Textile Science, Indus University, Karachi, Pakistan. He has been teaching the subjects of Apparel Manufacturing & Textile Merchandising & Marketing in the Department of Textile Science since 2009. Now a days, he is working in MNC, JUKI, as General Manager Sales since 2016. Before this, He was working as Regional Head -Marketing & Merchandiser, Auchan Retail, & Medsons Pvt Ltd. a french retail chain of stores having stores in 13 European countries, and he is associated with this profession since last 13 years.
