Safe Shelf is an **offline app**. All of your data — documents, photos, family member details, notes, categories, and reminders — is stored **only on your own device** in encrypted local storage. We operate **no servers** and keep **no copy** of your data. There is no account to sign in to.

This means **you are always in full control** of deleting your data. Below are the exact steps.

## 1. Delete individual items

You can remove any single item directly inside the app at any time:

1. Open **Safe Shelf** and unlock it with your PIN or biometric.

2. Open the item you want to remove (a document, photo/attachment, or family member).

3. Tap the item's **options** (long‑press the row or use the menu / delete icon).

4. Choose **Delete** and confirm.

The item — and its encrypted file on your device — is removed immediately.

## 2. Delete ALL of your data

To erase everything Safe Shelf has stored, **uninstall the app**:

1. On your device, go to **Settings → Apps → Safe Shelf** (or long‑press the app icon).

2. Tap **Uninstall**.

Uninstalling permanently deletes **all** locally stored data: every document, photo, family detail, note, category, reminder, your PIN, and the encryption keys. Because nothing is stored on any server, this removes 100% of your data. This action cannot be undone.

> If you created a **backup file** and shared it somewhere (e.g. your own cloud storage or email), delete that backup file separately from wherever you saved it.

## 3. Advertising identifier (ads)

Safe Shelf shows ads through **Google AdMob**, which may use your device's **Advertising ID**. We do not store this ourselves. You can reset or delete it at any time:

- **Android:** **Settings → Privacy → Ads → Reset/Delete advertising ID**.

You can also opt out of ad personalization in the same screen.

## 4. What is deleted vs. retained
