"It Is Fair!" started from a common need shared by artists – the desire to show and sell their art. I operate a small business known as "Natural Integrators," where I provide various services, but when it comes to fairs, I focus on my Pressed Flower Art. As a psychologist from Ecuador and an artist who appreciates community engagement, I actively participate in local fairs and events.
I recognize the challenges that emerging artists navigate when it comes to fees associated with showcasing and selling their work. That's why I've been committed to providing opportunities for artists to participate without financial barriers, allowing them to experience the event, learn from it, and feel supported by the community around them. I wanted to make these initial artist experiences fair, and that's where the name comes from.
Having successfully organized this event five times, I have sought venues that generously provide space without charging fees, eliminating the need for me or vendors to incur additional expenses. The first time organizing this event was at Liminal Space, a non-profit organization that, unfortunately, has since relocated to Tucson.
Upon the suggestion of my supportive friend Daniela, I approached Late For The Train as a potential venue. After presenting my event to Wrenna, the person responsible for hosting events, I received approval to run this event five times in October and November of 2023.
Currently, I am actively seeking new spaces that align with the vision of "It Is Fair!" to continue this initiative and support emerging artists in their creative journeys.
