Jason Lau’s career spans more than 25 years of cybersecurity leadership. He serves as global Chief Information Security Officer at Crypto.com, overseeing a platform with more than 150 million users, global Board of Directors for ISACA, Advisory Board for BlackHat, 1Password, Cloudflare, HackerOne and former Cybersecurity Advisor at Microsoft.Jason has helped shape some of the world’s most consequential cybersecurity, data privacy and AI policies, certifications and frameworks and a globally recognized cybersecurity leader and sought-after thought leadership speaker on cybersecurity and AI. He is a recipient of the (ISC)² Lifetime Achievement Award and has been named to the global Forbes NEXT CIO List and the CSO30 Hall of Fame.
Jason hold numerous ISACA and other industry certifications, distinguished Senior Accredited Director of the Singapore Institute of Directors, Fellow of the HK Institute of Directors, IAPP Westin Emeritus Fellow, and recognized as a Senior Member of IEEE.

This presentation focuses on demystifying the Mythos Effect — the growing tendency to overestimate AI capabilities, underestimate AI risks, and confuse AI hype with cybersecurity reality.
As frontier models improve, security teams should pay close attention. But the greatest AI risk is not intelligence; it is misplaced trust.
Using practical examples from vulnerability chaining, agentic workflows, prompt injection, AI sprawl, MCP tooling, and autonomous identity, the session challenges several common assumptions: AI output does not equal truth, vulnerability discovery does not equal exploitability, automation does not equal control, and Zero Trust alone is not enough for AI agents.
本プレゼンテーションでは、AIの能力を過大評価し、リスクを過小評価し、AIに関する誇大宣伝とサイバーセキュリティの現実を混同する傾向、いわゆる「神話効果」の解明に焦点を当てます。
最先端のAIモデルが進化するにつれ、セキュリティチームは細心の注意を払う必要があります。しかし、AIにおける最大のリスクは知能そのものではなく、誤った信頼です。
本セッションでは、脆弱性の連鎖、エージェント型ワークフロー、プロンプトインジェクション、AIの無秩序な拡散、MCPツール、自律型アイデンティティといった実例を用いて、いくつかの一般的な前提に疑問を投げかけます。すなわち、AIの出力は真実ではない、脆弱性の発見は悪用可能性ではない、自動化は制御ではない、そしてAIエージェントに対してはゼロトラストだけでは不十分である、といった点です。

1984年よりNTTにて情報通信技術に関する研究開発に従事。NTTの研究所長などを歴任後、2011年に情報セキュリティ大学院大学教授に転身。2017年4月から2025年3月まで同 学長。2025年4月からは教授としてサイバー人材教育・研究活動を継続。現在、政府のサイバーセキュリティ戦略本部 サイバーセキュリティ推進専門家会議の議長、一般社団法人ICT-ISACの理事長、NPO情報セキュリティフォーラムの理事長などを併任。
◇講演タイトル：進化・急変するサイバー環境と企業に求められるセキュリティ適応力とレジリエンス

Mark Thomas is President of Escoute LLC and an internationally recognized authority on IT governance, risk, and digital trust. An ISACA Hall of Fame inductee and two-time John Kuyers Award recipient, he serves as a COBIT framework reviewer and an architect of ISACA’s Digital Trust Ecosystem Framework (DTEF). His credentials include CGEIT, CRISC, CDPSE, AAIR, COBIT Assessor, ITIL Expert, and PRINCE2 Practitioner.
マーク・トーマス氏は、Escoute LLCの社長であり、ITガバナンス、リスク、デジタル・トラストの分野における国際的な第一人者です。ISACAの「殿堂（Hall of Fame）」入りを果たし、「ジョン・カイヤーズ賞（John Kuyers Award）」を2度受賞している同氏は、COBITフレームワークのレビュー担当者や、ISACAの「デジタル・トラスト・エコシステム・フレームワーク（DTEF）」のアーキテクトを務めています。保有資格には、CGEIT、CRISC、CDPSE、AAIR、COBIT Assessor、ITIL Expert、PRINCE2 Practitionerなどがあります。

The next 20 years will bring technologies we cannot yet name. What will not change is this: governance determines whether technology strengthens or destabilizes the enterprise. In this keynote, COBIT reviewer and ISACA Hall of Fame inductee Mark Thomas offers a first look at COBIT 7 and what it signals for the future of enterprise governance of I&T. He then looks 20 years ahead, at AI’s trajectory, realities beneath it, and the timeless governance principles that will guide interested parties through all of it. Attendees will leave with a practical view of where governance is going, and why it matters more than ever.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this session, participants will be able to:
1. Describe the key enhancements introduced in COBIT 7 and explain what they signal for the evolution of enterprise governance of I&T.
2. Assess the forces most likely to shape the next 20 years of technology, including the trajectory of AI and the demands beneath it, and evaluate their implications for governance.
3. Apply timeless governance principles to align interested parties, direct and monitor emerging technology, and ensure that technology strengthens rather than destabilizes the enterprise.
今後20年間で、現時点ではまだ名前さえ付いていないような技術が登場するでしょう。しかし、変わらないことがあります。それは、技術が企業を強化するものとなるか、それとも不安定にするものとなるかを決定づけるのは「ガバナンス」である、という点です。本講演では、COBIT 7の概要と、それがI&T（情報・技術）の企業ガバナンスの未来に何をもたらすのかについて解説します。さらに、AIの今後の軌跡やその背後にある現実を見据えつつ、変化の激しい時代において関係者を導く不変のガバナンス原則についても論じます。参加者の皆様は、ガバナンスの今後の展望と、なぜ今それがかつてないほど重要になっているのかについて、実践的な理解を深めることができるでしょう。

本セッションの受講後、参加者は以下のことができるようになります。
1. COBIT 7で導入された主な機能強化・改善点を説明し、それらが企業の情報とテクノロジー（I&T）のガバナンスの進化にとって何を意味するのかを説明できる。
2. AIの進化の方向性や、その基盤となる要件を含め、今後20年間のテクノロジーの発展に大きな影響を与えると考えられる要因を分析し、それらがガバナンスに及ぼす影響を評価できる。
3. 時代を超えて普遍的に通用するガバナンスの原則を適用し、利害関係者間の方向性を一致させ、新興テクノロジーを方向付け・モニタリングすることで、テクノロジーが企業を不安定化させるのではなく、企業の強化に寄与するようにできる。
