The iTEM is Co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union
The iTEM Capacity Building Project for Higher Education (CBHE) organizes in collaboration with our partner university UMIT (EDUARD- WALLNÖFER- ZENTRUM 1; 6060 HALL IN TIROL) an Intensive Course (IC) on how to teach and learn mathematics. The IC refers to students and teachers of the consortium interested in teaching science of mathematics or/and in STEM education. Due to COVID-19 pandemic this IC has been cancelled in March 2020 and instead of the iTEM had organized an online event (28th & 29th of March 2020).
The IC will take place between the 15th and the 16th of September 2022 with the 1st day to be devoted to teachers and the 2nd one to students. The event will be hosted in Tirol, Austria by UMIT. The topics will be covered during the IC will be the following:
• How to use learning analytics for more effective mathematics teaching (mainly for teachers).
• Tips on how to teach mathematics (mainly for teachers).
• Real mathematics in the virtual world (mainly for teachers & students).
• Learning mathematics through visualisations (mainly for students).
• Tips on how to learn mathematics (mainly for students).
• Workshops for students in gamification, on how to use Mathematica, on how to use ICT for understanding mathematics (for students)
After the lunch of the 1st day, the project has organised a round table discussion with students in challenges realizing mathematics as a tool for their further professional but also personal development.
All the consortium partners have budget to support financially the participation of two teachers and five students in this IC. However the ceilings of the project should be strictly respected.
