Does anyone know of a way to programmaticly get a list of books from a user's Amazon Kindle Library? I would like to build a service for lending books. Ideally users would be able to export a list of books they are willing to lend without having to type each one individually. I believe Amazon may have some sort of API for this but have been unable to find any documentation. I am more or less language agnostic on this one.

Solution: The user is given an option to mount their kindle as a removable drive, and further to drag/drop all of their ebook files onto the page. I then parse all the file names which contain the ASIN. Using the ASIN, I can search Amazon for the book information including if it is lendable or not.

I don't know how they do it exactly - but Shelfari will import a user's Kindle books based on purchase history if they login with their Amazon account (I think I've seen somewhere that Amazon partially owns Shelfari or they are somehow affiliated). Anyway the Shelfari interface - which is basically a social network for readers also has the capability to create a CSV with your virtual shelves. That file is basically a simple spreadsheet with the identifying data for the books. I have used this process for transferring my Kindle library catalog before because it is too cumbersome to do one by one. The CSV file is usually importable by other sites or readable by excel so that you can copy and paste the data in larger groups.

No. Kindle Unlimited is a distinct membership that offers members access to more than 4 million digital books, audiobooks, comics, and magazines. Prime Reading is a great benefit of an Amazon Prime membership with access to thousands of titles.

Kindle Countdown Deals can last up to seven days. You can run a countdown for a shorter period of time (they allow countdowns for as short as 1h) but you only get to run one Countdown every enrollment period, so people typically run them for 3-7 days in order to give readers ample time to take advantage of the deal. Many people offer their books on a Countdown promotion when they promote with us on Bargain Booksy.

Hey Deborah, you will be more likely to get downloads as readers love a free book, but pairing your free day with marketing efforts, like a Freebooksy promo, will be the best way to make sure to get downloads.

While PublishDrive led this charge with PublishDrive Abacus, Draft2Digital is our choice for book distributors, and they also have this revolutionary program in the publishing world. You can read their announcement here.

If going through all the steps above to form your publishing company sounds like a lot of work, you can significantly simplify the process (for an added fee, of course) with a company like MyCompanyWorks, which is a business that helps you set up your own business.

My Kindle (3?) would not turn on after the screen froze and I did a hard shut down. I used a combination of solutions above to fix it. I held the power button for about thirty seconds, getting the flashing green power light about 7 seconds in and then a flicker of the screen about 25 seconds in. The screen remained blank after that and I let the power button go. I then held down the Alt and R keys simultaneously and the Kindle began rebooting. It is now up and running with all of the contents that were there prior to the hiccup.

If holding the switch for an extended time does not work, take a deep breath and resist the urge to fling your Kindle against the wall. Then find a safe place where the unit will not be touched and leave it for 3-4 days. You may need to wait for as much as a week. Once the battery has lost some or all of its charge, try plugging it in to recharge again. No promises, but when my screen froze this worked. The idea came from my daughter, who has similar issues with her iPod from time to time.

Thanks so much everyone for this. My Kindle has been irritating me for some time (it is almost 4 years old) - slow to respond, sometimes refused to search when I wanted to buy something, then this morning it froze altogether and I truly thought it had had it! Consulted this forum and proceeded according to advice of others. Held down the on/off switch for well over 30 seconds, then it turned off, waited quite a while without touching it, then the screensaver tree and reader appeared, with a progress bar beneath. This almost reached the end, then stopped, but I told myself patience was everything and in due course it put itself through several processes of internal digestion and eventually restored itself to apparently prime condition. I can now access my list of books, search for new purchases, "turn" pages swiftly, and have just downloaded a freebie classic which appeared speedily on my home page. So just be patient - presumably like all computers Kindles get themselves in a twist every so often and need a re-boot. Hope this helps others.

Suggest you slide and HOLD the switch to the right for 15 or 20 seconds. You should get a green light which may turn on then off during that 20-30 seconds. Mine starts to work normally after that and the screen starts up with "Mark Twain's" image or others.

I have gone through all of the solutions above with my Kindle model D00901. Resetting with the button and draining the battery did not work, but guess what did. Hold down the "Alt" button and the "R" simultaneously for a few seconds. Instant reboot with all files reloaded properly. Thanks so much for that little tip as I was about to go bonkers. This item is essential for my education.

that has happened to me and the light wont even turn on when i slide and release and it is frozen on a screen saver of anna christine with a whole bunch of black and white shapes covering part of it up.

It took a few rounds of back and forth with the factory to perfect the design of the very first Strapsicle strap. Once the final production sample was approved, Lou created an online survey and distributed it through Facebook, friends, and family. The feedback assured Lou they were solving a real customer problem, given the enthusiasm expressed by existing Kindle owners.

This approach allowed Lou and Ben to build community and start a dialogue with real customers using Strapsicle on their Kindles. Plus, it enabled the gathering of user-generated content and reviews to aid subsequent marketing efforts.

Lou decided to experiment with a micro-influencer affiliate marketing strategy. This involved searching relevant Kindle hashtags like #Kindle and keywords to find nano and micro-influencers on TikTok and Instagram with small but targeted followings between 2,000-3,000 followers.

The micro-influencer content spreads brand awareness and creates more user-generated content for Lou to repurpose on Strapsicle's social channels. She continues nurturing relationships with her influencers by sending new products and keeping in constant contact as they drive more and more traffic and sales.

She continues contacting micro-influencers on TikTok and Instagram that cater to the Kindle niche. By providing them with Amazon discount codes instead of codes for Strapsicle, any resulting sales still credit the influencer while allowing the customer a seamless Amazon shopping experience.

The crowning achievement thus far has been a single viral TikTok video that generated over 2 million views. Combined with a "The 9 Best Kindle Accessories to Shop on Amazon Under $35" PR roundup Cosmopolitan published, including Strapsicle, the widespread exposure pushed Lou's side hustle over $100k in sales in its first month, topping six figures.

One hard lesson came from a factory quality control issue with their manufacturer sending the wrong-sized units to Amazon warehouses. It wasn't caught initially, leading confused customers to complain about ill-fitting straps.

Lou used the opportunity to respond with thoughtful comments personally, send replacements from their Shopify-fulfilled inventory, and ultimately change disappointed 1-star reviews into delighted 5-star raves.

Word spread and a woman with cerebral palsy even wrote to Lou and said, "You've changed my life." While Lou initially set out to solve a simple problem for exhausted parents like herself, this discovery added a greater sense of purpose and refinement to the brand's vision.

Start reading, listening or watching instantly with e-books, audiobooks, e-magazines, and streaming movies. Most titles are available online with just an internet connection and a library card. An e-reader app is required for downloading to your personal device.

Publishing a book on Kindle is completely free. However, first-time publishers are advised to hire professionals to assist with editing, designing a book cover, illustrations, etc., to ensure their books are of high-quality and can compete with others. All of this, of course, costs money but it is well spent.

The final rates will also vary with your choice of book format. Print book covers are slightly more difficult to design than ebook covers. You need to think about the dimensions and design of the front and back covers, as well as the spine. This adds to the cost.

Reedsy Book Editor app is a convenient tool for authors looking to publish novels, short stories, nonfiction books, etc. that are primarily text with little to no images. The best part is it is free to use. 2351a5e196
