One of the very few opportunities offered to us by the COVID19 pandemic during the last year has been the implementation of virtual meeting platforms. In this way, attending a conference, presenting scientific results, having extensive discussions and fruitful confrontations have become possible for researchers based everywhere in the globe.

The scope of this international workshop "Next frontier of international collaborations in science and technology" is to discuss the new scenarios whose have been opened for scientific research and didactic offer.

After the salutation by the President of Shibaura Institute of Technology, Prof. Masato Murakami, the workshop will be opened by Prof. Enrico Traversa, Scientific Counsellor of the Italian Embassy in Japan. Contributions from researchers of Dillard University (New Orleans, USA), University of Antioquia (Colombia), Nazarbayev University (Astana, Kazakhstan), Madurai University (Tamil Nadu, India), University of Genova (Italy), University of Salerno (Italy), University of Castillla-La Mancha (Spain) are scheduled. It is a great honor to have in this workshop the speeches of distinguished Presidents, Rectors, and Deans, giving their vision for the internationalization of the scientific community.

Contributions from the International Programs Initiatives Section, Innovative Global Program (IGP), and Global course of engineering and science (GEneS) are also scheduled to enlighten the contributions of Shibaura Institute of Technology to global education.

Overall, this workshop will involve 20 contributions from 7 countries, across 6 different time zones.

This event is co-organized by Shibaura Institute of Technology (Tokyo, Japan) and Dillard University (New Orleans, USA). It is endorsed by the Italian Embassy in Japan.

We hope that this workshop will reinvigorate the ongoing collaborations and provide a platform to open new ones.
