Isabela State University will now officially offer the Doctor of Medicine Program after securing the approval of the CHED Commission en banc (CEB) this Monday (September 11).
The Doctor of Medicine Program will be offered under the newly established ISU College of Medicine and Allied Health Professions and will officially open this first semester of the academic year 2023-2024.
Β Since the 2020 COVID pandemic, the University has worked on the establishment of the College and vigorously complied with the curricular requirements of the Program towards its eventual offering in support of the national development plan for the Doktor Para sa Bayan Act, reinforcing the education of professional doctors and medical experts for rural and countryside areas.

One of the highlights of the exposition was the βC-DEWS: Community Dengue Early Warning System,β a revolutionary project presented by the Business Intelligence Research and Development Center (BIRD-C) of Isabela State University. Funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD) on June 1, 2021, this project aims to combat dengue using deep learning technology to identify mosquito eggs on a special glass with a mosquito attractor. Collaborating with local government units city health office, and weather stations, C-DEWS delivers timely warnings and real-time platform used for providing sanitation measures to prevent the spread of dengue.
The C-DEWS system operates on an enhanced ovicidal larvicidal (OL) trap utilizing Internet-of-Things (IoT) technology. It allows for remote monitoring of aedes aegypti eggs using the IoT-based OL trap device status through the online C-DEWS platform. The collected egg counts are transmitted to local government unit through a web-based monitoring system, the technology also includes a mobile app push notification system for captured dengue eggs.
ISU bags 3 National Awards from SUC Fair 2023Β
Representing the pride and honor of state universities and colleges (SUCs) in the Cagayan Valley Region, Isabela State University brings home 3 major awards from this yearβs conduct of the SUC Fair, the countryβs largest gathering of higher education institutions.
Two championship titles were clinched by Region 2 for the Best Booth and Bazaar Competition and EntrePinoy Competition.
Bannering the theme βParavulunanβ (Pagtutulungan; translates to as βhelping/supporting each otherβ), the Region 2 Booth showcases the products and festival attires of SUCs produced through research and extension initiatives. Mr. Ronald Isidro, Isabela State University Cauayan Bachelor of Science Entrepreneurship Program Chair, led the regionβs team as the coach with his concept of entrepreneurial booth design.
Isabela State University officially receives its Two (2) trophy recognitions for Level II Proficiency in Quality Management- Philippine Quality Award (PQA) in the just-concluded 2022 PQA Conferment Ceremony at the MalacaΓ±an, this morning (March 17).
ISU Ilagan and ISU Cabagan Campuses of Isabela State University got into the list of six (6) other institutions across the country awarded with PQA Level II recognition.
These include Bukidnon State University, Caraga State University, DOST-PCIEERD, and University of Southern Mindanao.
With the new award, Isabela State University remains the only state university in Northeastern Philippines to have received the PQA recognition, and the only academic institution with three (3) successive PQA citations.
HATS OFF! | The Isabela State University takes pride with Dr. Orlando F. Balderama, ISU Vice President for Research and Extension, as he is set to receive Regional Professorial Chair Grant bestowed by the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA).
SEARCA has announced the appointment of Dr. Balderama together with four (4) other Southeast Asian Professors for the academic year 2023-24.
According to SEARCA, the grant recognizes the efforts and contributions of these academicians in the fields of research, instruction, and innovation in support of agriculture and rural development in the Southeast Asia.
For this, SEARCA annually gives grant to educators and academicians in recognition of their works that lead to the realization of Accelerating Transformation Through Agricultural Innovation (ATTAIN), SEARCAβs 11th Five-Year Plan (FYP).
