Since the Department of Applied English was founded at I-Shou University, it has positively integrated various resources of campus to develop professional theories and practical applications of the English language for its students. With the solid foundation painstakingly laid by the teachers and students on English dramas in the second to sixth years and with the efforts of the teachers and students in the seventh year, the seventh student performance was finally relocated from Guanyinshan to the outdoors for the first time after the first performance in Academic Year 2003. The English drama performance has not only become an important indicator for international cultural education, but also given rise to the studies of international culture and English education in the southern area. The eleventh English drama performance “Wonderland A+” represents the classic fairy tale “Alice in Wonderland” through more popular and modern performing arts and English conversations.

For students who study foreign languages, the English drama performance offers them a stage to show themselves. No matter who is on the stage or backstage, everyone plays an important role. At the first rehearsal, everyone had different thoughts, but they eventually reached an unspoken consensus through constant communications and coordination. Because of this activity, students can not only realize the importance of teamwork and communication, but also obtain advanced skills as well as expression of emotions by interacting with each other. Therefore, the aim of this activity is to exhibit a perfect English drama performance through collaboration, communication and coordination among the entire faculty and students of Department of Applied English. Our faculty and students possess global visions and inherit the outstanding tradition to make the eleventh English drama performance more excellent.

The Department of Applied English spent one year preparing, rehearsing, as well as deploying almost 110 people for the annual English drama performance in order to actively demonstrate our English expertise and multinational culture on the stage and present a perfect performance. In addition to exhibiting students’ English ability and awareness of international culture, this activity can appeal to businesses, cram schools, publishing companies, educational institutions, the public and students to gather the impetus to learn and use English, and enhance everyone’s motivation and potential to study English. Furthermore, it also brings joy and creates unforgettable and beautiful memories at the same time. The substantial sponsorship from businesses, cram schools, publishing companies, educational institutions, and the public as well as students’ attendance always give our teachers and students great encouragement.
