MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS 26-27

1. Must have 20 hours of community service per semester 

• 5 of these hours must be sponsored by NHS for both semesters

• Each NHS hour is equal to 1 volunteer hour 

• You may include up to 5 hours from summer (for first semester)

2. Must maintain a 3.5 GPA 

3. Only 1 excused absence allowed

• Excused absences include school-related sports games/competitions (not practices) and doctor appointments

• Absences must be communicated at least 1 week before the meeting to Elise Pelgrum (Secretary)

• Each missed meeting requires 1 additional hour of service

• Unexcused absences may result in removal from NHS

• Attendance is taken at the end of the meeting. Talk to Elise at the beginning of the meeting if you need to leave early.
