International
sub-Riemannian
seminar
Starting from Fall 2020, the International Sub-Riemannian Seminar is part of the new Sub-Riemannian Seminars, see new link >> here <<
Due to the coronavirus epidemic, many universities are implementing their seminar talks through online video conferences. One may see this as a new positive opportunity to feel more unite than before.
Some researchers from the USA, France, Italy, Switzerland, and Finland thought it would be helpful to gather the community of mathematicians interested in sub-Riemannian geometry and related topics around an international seminar; it has been decided to launch a seminar called the `international sub-Riemannian seminar', ISRS.
Sub-Riemannian spaces are the main connection. However, the scope of ISRS is broader and devoted to:
analysis on Lie groups
geometric group theory
metric geometry
differential geometry
geometric measure theory
geometric control theory.
Initially, we aggregate every two weeks (when the epidemic is over we may decide to keep it as it is or to meet less often). The proposal for the meeting times is on Fridays, in the evenings for Europe and the morning for America, see below.
The times are as follows:
California 8am
Illinois 10am
New York 11am
England 4pm
France, Switzerland, and Italy 5pm (17:00)
Finland 6pm (18:00)
With the support of the following institutes and universities:
