1 I’m unsure of what path I'll be pursuing in engineering at this time. The gentler path I want to go down is 3D design or electrical. I’m open to other paths. People who inspired me the most to go into engineering of some sort were my oldest brother and my both of grandfathers. My oldest brother inspired me to do it in general, not in the path that he went in, which was engineering and manufacturing, and my grandfather was an electrician in the Navy, my grandfather on my Mom's side He was specifically a boiler engineer in the Navy he was the one who made sure the entire ship that he was on was running since ships back in that time were running off of steam and not nuclear engines. I decided to go into the engineering field when I was in eighth grade. At that point, I didn't know what I wanted to do, so I decided to venture into a field that was not something similar to what my brother and grandfather did.
2 I have not taken any classes thus far that would help me directly with engineering. The reason why I decided to go to Tech Center was to find the skills and find the path I want to go down with engineering. I'm very good at math and am easily able to pick up on things. Usually, when I pass the basics, everything is easy and quickly done.
3. After I've completed my career goal, whatever I've decided that may be at the time, I would contribute to the community by going to those local jobs and applying for them so I could help. Anything that I can do for the community is help as an engineer; our jobs are to find a problem, then find a solution. Although I myself may never be able to actually have an impact on the wider community, I can only hope my work can inspire other people to pursue a similar job as me and then further help people in their community. That would be my dream moving forward in my career path.
4. Haven't had any extracurricular activities that would teach basic teamwork or outside activities that could help me in engineering. The only learning that I've received outside of engineering would be at my workplace, which is Outback Steakhouse. I work as a busser. In that job, I have to work alongside the Host to make sure all the tables are clean. The skills that I do have are helping others out and making sure everything else is ready for other people to do their job
5 Upon graduation, I have a couple of options that I'm considering. The one that I'm currently considering is taking 2 years at Community College, then transferring over to a university being Towson. Well, I know Towson is not the best college for engineering, but I know it will give me a good education, and if it is nearby, I am considering looking into other colleges. The other option that I am considering is taking an apprenticeship. I would be doing this because I know that it won't take as long as college, and I would actually get on-site experience. Instead of just having a certificate, I would have a certificate and the experience to go with it.
