The 26th Conference of the International Society for the Philosophy of Chemistry (ISPC2023) will be held from July 18 to 21 of 2023 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, at CAECE University. This event is the continuation of a long list of conferences organized since 1997. The last two meetings (Lille, France 2022 and Buenos Aires 2021) have been held remotely, this time we return to our normal schedule of in person meetings. However, we will leave a full day dedicated to remote presentations for those who cannot attend. The last ten meetings previous to the COVID-19 outbreak, have been organized in Torino (Italy), Bristol (United Kingdom), Paris (France), Boca Raton (USA), Rio de Janeiro (Brasil), London (United Kingdom), Montevideo (Uruguay), Leuven (Belgium), Bogota (Colombia) and Oxford (United Kingdom).
The ISPC2023 aims at providing a forum for discussion about foundational, epistemological, methodological and ontological problems of chemistry and its subfields, by bringing together leading researchers and young scholars from all over the world. Issues debated in the philosophy of chemistry emerge from three communities: chemists, reflecting on the foundations of their science, philosophers of science, investigating the and specific nature of chemistry, and historians of chemistry, making sense of the pathways to discoveries and the practices of chemistry in the past.
