QSP SIG Leadership Team Nominations 2021-2022

The Quantitative Systems Pharmacology Special Interest Group (QSP SIG) is seeking nominations for 3 positions on the Leadership Team. We seek energetic and motivated nominees to serve as Vice-Chair, Communications Director, and Secretary, positions that are described in more detail below. This is a great opportunity to work with colleagues from a variety of backgrounds and representation across the globe to drive forward innovation in QSP. All current members of ISoP and the QSP SIG are eligible to be nominated, and self-nominations are accepted. If you are nominating a colleague, please confirm that he/she is willing to serve before submitting the nomination.

The Vice-Chair position will be elected by the QSP SIG membership, whereas the Communications Director and Secretary will be selected by the QSP SIG leadership team. The leadership team will review nominations for the Vice-Chair role and select two candidates to proceed to the general election.

If you wish to be considered for one (or more) of these positions, please send your CV and a short, single-paragraph introduction and motivation to ISoPQSP@go-isop.org by September 24, 2021.

To nominate a colleague, please email a name and contact information, along with two sentences about why he or she would be an appropriate choice, to ISoPQSP@go-isop.org by September 24, 2021.

We look forward to receiving your nominations!

QSP SIG Vice-Chair

The Vice-Chair plays an instrumental role in developing and implementing the initiatives of the SIG. The role requires experience in QSP in academia, industry, or government or public sector organizations, including familiarity with the broader space of QSP and a passion and commitment to foster a QSP community and drive the field forward. The Vice Chair will work closely with other members of the SIG Leadership Team to develop SIG-contributed conference programming, participate in review of SIG working group efforts, help plan SIG activities for ACoP conferences, and help identify initiatives the SIG should undertake in the future. Additional responsibilities include participation at bi-weekly Leadership Team meetings and semi-annual Steering Committee meetings, as well as participation in SIG activities at ACoP annual conferences. Leadership positions within the SIG rotate such that the Vice-Chair will, in subsequent years, take on the roles of Chair-Elect, Chair, then Past Chair of the SIG. As such, the anticipated term of participation in the Leadership Team is four years, with the roles transitioning annually after the ACoP conference.

QSP SIG Communications Director

The Communications Director is responsible for advertising the SIG’s accomplishments by coordinating communications and social media activity. Specific duties include managing social media accounts, working with the Secretary to produce a quarterly newsletter, advertising programming and webinars sponsored by the SIG, and updating the group’s Google Site. As such, criteria for selection include not only scientific excellence, but also social media activity. Attendance and participation in SIG activities including ACoP is also expected. This is a one-year commitment, beginning after ACoP and continuing through the following ACoP.

QSP SIG Secretary

The role is an opportunity for a motivated, early career scientist to gain greater exposure in the community and experience in managing the ISoP QSP SIG activities. Responsibilities include participation at bi-weekly Leadership Team meetings and semi-annual Steering Committee meetings, maintaining SIG documentation (including preparing meeting minutes), and coordinating with the QSP Communications Director to manage communication efforts. Attendance and participation in SIG activities including ACoP is also expected. This is a one-year commitment, beginning after ACoP and continuing through the following ACoP.
