It is our great pleasure to invite you to the International Symposium on Isotope Physiology, Ecology, and Geochemistry 2025 (IsoPEG’25).
Over the last four decades, insights from stable isotope analysis of C, N, H, O, and S have resulted in significant advances in the study of energy and nutrient cycles in the biosphere. Indeed, stable isotope analysis at the level of individual organic compounds (Compound-specific isotope analysis: CSIA) has emerged as powerful tools for providing unprecedented accuracy in the understanding of the complex biological, ecological, and geochemical dynamics across aquatic and terrestrial systems, particularly for illustrating function, interactions, and resource use of diverse organisms in the biosphere and ecosphere, and tracing sources and delivery of organic compounds and associated energy input/output in the earth surface.
IsoPEG’25 has two scientific themes: ‘Development/improvement of method and methodology’, and ‘Application of CSIA’. We would like to bring together a diverse group of scientist who have used (or will use) 'isotope ratios', including bulk, compound-specific, and position-specific, and including stable C, N, H, O, and S and radioactive C, to develop novel theoretical and applied approaches to solving broad, overarching questions in physiology, ecology, and geochemistry, and in the related fields. The aim of this symposium is thus to share the latest development/improvement, discoveries, findings, thoughts, ideas, and even unexplainable data, related to the above two themes, for better understanding ‘isotope ratios’ and for accelerating application of 'isotope ratios' in our studies, as well as to build on further great collaborations.
