BRING YOUR OWN DEVICE (BYOD)
Flexible and Dynamic Learning
International School of Monza (ISM) is committed to providing a supportive and engaging learning environment. We value the rich and deep learning experiences that technology can provide in a stimulating and challenging academic environment that supports communication and collaboration. With the demise of the Digital Education Revolution, ISM is providing students and families the opportunity to provide their own devices for learning and educational activities. The school values the rich learning experiences that tightly integrated interactions with technology bring to students learning. The promotion and advancement of this integration is core to the school's educational philosophies. By facilitating Bring Your Own Device (BYOD), ISM empowers its students and gives them direct involvement in the way they use technology in their learning.
We have made the decision to introduce 1:1 Apple iPad for Primary School (Grade 2- 6) and Apple Macbook for Secondary School (MYP & DP). Students will be asked to bring their own devices to school. We believe that all students have the right to access flexible and dynamic learning experiences to interest and challenge them catering to diverse learning needs. The devices are significant learning tools that will further develop the capacity of the individual to create, collaborate, communicate and contribute.
NOTE: INTRODUCTION OF MACBOOKS IN GRADE 6 NEXT ACADEMIC YEAR
Following a review of our BYOD 1:1 program, we have been looking at ways in which we can make the organizational, self-management and technological transition to MYP a little smoother for our PYP Grade 6 students. Normally, students would start to use Apple MacBooks in Grade 7 but we now have enough reason to believe that there would be substantial benefits to moving to the MacBook as the preferred device in Grade 6 and would like to propose that incoming Grade 6 students begin using a MacBook from January 2022.
