Ismat Jarin

Hi there! My name is Ismat Jarin. I am a Ph.D. student in Computer Science  at the University of California, Irvine. I obtained my MS degree in CIS  from University of Michigan, Dearborn. Previously, I was a Graduate Research Assistant at Data Driven Security and Privacy Lab under Professor Birhanu Eshete . I have been working as a PhD student at UCI, under ProperAI ( Engineering and Society Institute of AI), ProperData and Networking Group from fall 2022 under the supervision of Professor Athina Markopoulou. 

My research focuses are Privacy and Security in Emerging Technologies (AI Agents, LLMs, AR/VR), Trustworthy/Responsible AI, Data Privacy in Virtual Reality, Machine Unlearning, Distributed Machine Learning (FL/Ensemble), Regulation or Policy for AI/ML.

In my personal life, I like to read novels, cook and travel. I also have deep passion for self defense and yoga! 🧘🥊
