Island Whimsies is a Pacific Northwest studio, where nature-inspired room accents are crafted from coastal shells and wearable origami art from paper. Every single piece produced is unique—just like the individual seashell, folded page, or original design it grew from.

The Moment Shell Met Paper

My creative journey started with paper jewelry, inspired by Japanese graphics and how modular origami shapes could transform into wearable art.

One day, while beachcombing along our beautiful shores, I found an empty Pacific Oyster shell. It was so perfect, I decided to turn it into a treasure box for my own home.

That was my defining "Island Whimsy" moment—the exact day Shell met Paper!

Today, that happy encounter has blossomed into a full product line that includes shell and origami jewelry, paper home accents, and coastal room decor. Every piece created is an open invitation for you to slow down, notice the small details,  and bring a touch of natural wonder into your daily life.

Crafted with Heart and Intention

Over the years, I have perfected my paper folding and decoupage skills. I pour great care into each step to ensure your accessories are beautiful, well-crafted, and made to last:

• Coastal Shells: Every shell is thoroughly washed, sanitized, colored, and decoupaged by hand. While most seashells are naturally sturdy, decoupage is delicate. I apply multiple layers of food-safe glossy varnish to seal the paper, ensuring a durable, UV and water-resistant finish.

• Wearable Origami: I also apply protective matte varnish on paper jewelry, so your wearable Whimsies will color your world for a lifetime, while preserving their natural paper appearance.

• Earth-Friendly: Island Whimsies are handcrafted with ethically sourced materials and presented in sustainable, eco-friendly packaging ready for gifting.
