GROUP BACKGROUND
ABOUT US
We are students of Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK), and our group consists of 1st year students from the Faculty of Entrepreneurship and Business. This assignment was given to us by Puan Siti Zamanira Binti Mat Zaib, who is a lecturer for the Islamic Theology course (ABS10203). This task needs to be done in groups consisting of 10 members in one group. This task was done to foster a spirit of cooperation in explaining the whole of Maysir more clearly to the community today, which still lacks understanding. This is so because Maysir is a game that is often played by Muslims in Malaysia. Most people who play this game are likely due to poverty or other reasons. One of the reasons we chose the title of Maysir is because we want to gain a deeper understanding of the law, causes, and adverse effects of Maysir on Islam. We hope to provide awareness to the community today about Maysir through this website. In addition, this task is done to reveal to students the application of knowledge, skills, and moral values in working together to complete this task well.
Among the skills that students can acquire from this assignment are:
1) Thinking Skills
enables students to learn how to analyze different ideas and opinions about Maysir and gambling. In addition, they can acquire the knowledge to distinguish what is right and what is wrong about logic and assumptions in their own and others' conclusions. In addition, students are able to organize their ideas accurately and in an orderly manner.
2) Information Finding Skills
Students can learn how to find and use information sources related to gambling and maysir through Google. Also, they can gain knowledge on how to avoid plagiarism by using correct and authentic sources.
3) Communication Skills
Students can learn how to express their opinions effectively and respect the views of others in verbal or non-verbal discussions. Additionally, they can acquire the ability to actively listen and respond to the feedback provided. For example, due to our busy daily schedule, we had to do several discussion sessions through WhatsApp and Google Meet applications.
4) Problem Solving Skills
We are planning to do this acting assignment about Maysir, and the weather that day is rainy. Because of this, we had trouble making plays about Maysir. Therefore, we had to do last-minute discussions because we were desperate to think of a new location for the acting. Despite facing problems at the last minute, the discussions we had were fruitful, and the problem was resolved. This can foster a culture of mutual help among group members in solving problems rationally.
5) Planning Skills
Before this assignment, we held 3 face-to-face meeting sessions at BookBite and 1 online meeting session using Google Meet with all group members. The purpose of the discussion is to plan the minutes of the meeting and the activities that will be carried out throughout the day of the implementation of this task. As a result of the discussion and planning done, this task can run very smoothly, and each member is actively involved in the group.
