Welcome! We are the International Student Leadership & Advocacy Board (ISLAB). We bring together student leaders from across campus to celebrate global diversity and identity, initiate polyculture exchange, and empower international students through leadership and advocacy initiatives!
ISLAB members pride themselves on our commitment to facilitating global communication, cultivating multicultural friendships, and fighting for equitable opportunities for all Emory students. We also work hard each day to create spaces in which students of diverse nationalities and backgrounds feel represented, safe, and excited to pursue their degrees at Emory. Lastly, we strive to improve the quality of life for students at Emory, advocate for students' mental health, bring students together through fun events, and educate others about multicultural issues of importance.Â
OUR EVENTS
At our 2023 Halloween Party, everyone got together for pumpkin and cookie decoration, a horror movie, and trick-or-treat in our haunted house.
Every year in collaboration with DCT and SGA, we host the Thanksgiving Lunch where students can join us for delicious food, win prizes, make candy turkeys, and paint pumpkins.
Last 2024 Spring, we hosted a "Make Your Own Sushi" event where students learn how to make delicious rolls with salmon, tuna, yellowtail, shrimp, eel, sea bream, and tobiko!
