Iskra Privacy Policy

Iskra is a curated activity-led dating app. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and how users can request access, correction, or deletion.
1. Who we are

2. Data we collect
We may collect the following information when you use Iskra:
- Account information, such as email address, user ID, login status, and authentication data.
- Profile information, such as name, age or date of birth, gender, city, profession or role, bio, and other profile details you provide.
- Dating and activity preferences, such as preferred activities, availability, budget comfort, dating preferences, and connection preferences.
- Profile photos uploaded by you.
- Private verification selfie, used for safety and authenticity checks. This selfie is not intended to be shown publicly to other users.
- Match and date proposal information, including proposal status, accept/pass/adjust actions, and planned activity details.
- Messages and chat content exchanged inside the app.
- Reports, blocks, safety feedback, and moderation-related information.
- Privacy and account requests, including account deletion requests.
- Technical information such as app activity, logs, error data, device/app information, and diagnostic information where needed for security, debugging, and service operation.
3. Camera and photos
Iskra requests camera and/or photo access so users can upload profile photos and a private verification selfie.
Camera access is used only when you choose to take or upload a photo/selfie in the app. Profile photos may be shown to relevant users as part of the dating experience. Verification selfies are used for safety and review purposes and are not intended to be displayed publicly.
4. How we use data
We use personal data to:
- create and manage user accounts;
- allow users to apply to Iskra;
- review applications;
- create and manage user profiles;
- support curated matching and activity-date proposals;
- enable chat and date planning;
- maintain safety, trust, moderation, reports, and blocks;
- prevent abuse, fake accounts, and misuse;
- process privacy and account deletion requests;
- improve app reliability, fix bugs, and maintain security;
- comply with legal obligations.
5. Legal basis
Where GDPR applies, we process personal data based on one or more of the following legal bases:
- performance of a contract or steps before entering into a contract;
- user consent where required;
- legitimate interests, including safety, fraud prevention, moderation, app security, and service improvement;
- compliance with legal obligations.
6. Data sharing
We do not sell user personal data.
We may share data with service providers that help us operate the app, including hosting, authentication, database, storage, analytics, security, and technical infrastructure providers. These providers process data on our behalf.
The app currently uses Supabase for backend services such as authentication, database, and storage.
We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect users, to investigate abuse, or to enforce safety rules.
7. Storage and security
We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect user data. Data is transmitted using encrypted connections where supported. Access to admin and moderation data is restricted to authorised personnel.
8. Retention
We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including account operation, safety, moderation, legal compliance, and dispute handling.
When a user requests account deletion, we will delete or anonymise personal data unless we need to keep limited information for legal, safety, fraud prevention, or abuse-prevention reasons.
9. Account deletion
Users can request account deletion inside the app through the privacy or account settings area.

Please include the email address used for the Iskra account. We may need to verify the request before deleting account data.
10. User rights
Depending on location, users may have rights to:
- access their personal data;
- correct inaccurate data;
- delete personal data;
- restrict or object to processing;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- request data portability;
- complain to a data protection authority.

11. Children and age restriction
Iskra is intended for adults only. Users must be at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly allow children to use the app.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be published at the same URL with a new “Last updated” date.
