About ISKCON
The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), also known as the Hare Krishna Movement, is a global spiritual organization dedicated to spreading the teachings of Bhagavad-gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam, as taught by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. Founded in 1966 in New York City, ISKCON is rooted in the ancient Gaudiya Vaishnavism tradition, which emphasizes devotion (bhakti) to Lord Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead.
At ISKCON, we strive to promote spiritual wisdom, ethical living, and selfless service. Our mission is to encourage people to live a God-centered life through mantra meditation (chanting the Hare Krishna mantra), selfless service, and devotion. ISKCON temples, communities, and educational centers worldwide serve as hubs for spiritual learning, cultural exchange, and humanitarian efforts.
