PhD Candidate in Economics
Welcome to my website! I am a PhD Candidate in Economics at the Institute for Latin American Studies at Freie Universität Berlin and a Research Associate in the DFG-funded project The Long Shadow of Immigration Enforcement: Deportation Consequences in Migrants’ Countries of Origin (DEPCON).
My research interests lie in development economics, with a particular focus on international migration and educational outcomes. My current research examines how migration and deportation outcomes shape the socioeconomic conditions of communities in countries of origin, with a regional focus on El Salvador.
Prior to joining Freie Universität Berlin, I earned a Master's degree in Economics from Humboldt University of Berlin and an MBA from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Beyond my professional work, sport has always been an important part of my life. I played NCAA Division I college tennis in the United States and now compete in HYROX fitness races. The discipline, resilience, and perseverance I developed through years of competitive sport continue to shape the way I approach research, collaboration, and new challenges.
