2018 – 2019: Renewable Energy Analyst Intern, Division of Mitigation and Adaptation (DMA), Green Climate Fund (GCF), Songdo, South Korea
Contributed to drafting the renewable energy section of the GCF replenishment paper, highlighting the relevance and potential of the sector, gaps in global financing, and required actions for energy transformation. Co-developed a multi-criteria assessment tool in Excel for effective resources allocation and prioritization of funding proposals and concept notes. Prepared the initial draft of the renewable energy sector guide and strategies that would inform and influence future GCF funding for renewable energy projects in emerging and frontier markets. Supported the review and finalization of funding proposals and concept notes submitted by different GCF Accredited Entities (AEs). Assisted in the organization of the 2018 GCF Private Sector Investment for Climate Conference which attracted over 700 private sector leaders from across the world. Supported the organizing of thematic discussions, including a preliminary research to explore partnership opportunities between the GCF and the Alliance for Rural Electrification headquartered in Brussels.
2015 – 2017: Research Assistant, College of Environmental Design, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Dhahran, Saudi Arabia
Developed a review of user-driven interventions for energy conservation by examining literature on energy policies, practices, and programs in Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, UAE, and Qatar. Published a review of about 70 articles on the application of the remote sensing technology in renewable energy development, using cases from Denmark, Spain, China, Scotland, India, Turkey, and Vietnam. Reviewed and compiled over 600 indicators of urban sustainability from leading rating systems such as LEED (US), GREEN STAR (Australia), BCA (Singapore), BREEAM (UK), IGBC (India), DGNB (Germany), and the Pearl Community Rating System (Abu Dhabi). Presented a situational assessment of the Akosombo and Bui Hydro projects in Ghana, with emphasis on the regional importance, socio-economic conflicts, and long-term perspectives. Contributed to faculty research exploring urban flooding in Bangladesh, highlighting the nature, pattern, and intensity; the socio-economic consequences; and the nexus between rising flooding events and climate change.

Developed and submitted a series of assignments on critical path analysis, logical framework, and project cost-benefit analysis to build strong insights into project management and appraisal. Prepared analytical essays on the Environmental Kuznets Conjecture (EKC) and sustainability management in fragile states, focusing on countries in Sub Saharan Africa and South Asia. Conducted an independent research to examine the poverty reduction and livelihood impacts of protected areas in northern Ghana and published findings in the Journal for Sustainable Development Studies.
