Each student will borrow one or two book(s) during the library session. We encourage every student to pick a book that is a good fit.
Students will return their library book(s) regularly or renew them, on the day they have their library lesson. It is the child’s responsibility to take care of the book and return it on time. Please encourage your child to do so!
If students have any overdue loans, we expect them to do the best they can to return their book(s) as soon as possible. If your child loses or damages a library book, you may be asked to replace it. For our full lost/damaged book policy, please contact the library.
The library agreements are created with the students. Our current agreements are: we take care of the books and the library space, we are calm, quiet and focused in the library and we take care of each other in the library.
Students are welcome to the library after school on certain days to borrow books and read from 14.30 to 15.00. Days will be posted on the library door each school year.
Students are not allowed to eat, drink or use mobile phones in the library after school.
The library is always happy to accept book donations in all languages! Donated books need to be in good condition and age appropriate for our library but we are happy to sort through them and decide which books to add to the collection and which books to pass on to the students or to second hand.
Thanks for thinking of the library!
There is always lots to do in the library! If you are interested in volunteering for a morning or afternoon each week, that would be very helpful. We mostly need help with returning and shelving books, as well as supporting students to check out book correctly. There are also covering and labeling jobs to be done.
Please contact the librarian if you have any questions, or stop by to say hello. All volunteers will need a clear police check certificate before starting but this is a very simple process we can help with.
