Giovanna Ferrari

Professional Bio

Giovanna Ferrari started her academic carrier at the University of Salerno, where, since 2000, she is Full Professor of Chemical Engineering at the Industrial Engineering Department. Since 2006 she is also President of the Board of Directors of ProdAl scarl, a Technology & Innovation transfer Center located in the Campus of the University of Salerno. She was visiting researcher at the University of Wageningen (NL) in 1987 and Visiting scientist at the Experimental Station of DuPont de Nemours Company, Delaware, (USA), in 1994. In 1992, she was also a visiting professor at the University if Applied Science in Frankfurt (DE). She was invited speaker in international conferences in the field of Food Engineering and responsible of research project at national and international level. Her research activity is mainly focused on the study of novel technologies and their application in the food industry, including sustainability aspects. She received grants from Italian Institutions, European Institutions as well as from private companies. She is author of more than 300 papers in the field of food engineering and powder technology.
