Dr. Aman Yadav is the Lappan-Phillips Professor of Computing Education in the College of Education and College of Natural Science at Michigan State University with extensive experience in research, evaluation, and teacher professional development. His research and teaching focus on supporting educators to understand, apply, and critically evaluate the use of computing in K-12 classrooms. He leads several projects that design, implement, and assess how professional learning experiences can support teachers to bring computational tools and practices to support their disciplinary teaching. His co-edited book, Computational Thinking in Education: A Pedagogical Perspective tackles how to integrate computational thinking, coding, and subject matter in relevant and meaningful ways. His work has been published in several leading journals, including Communications of the ACM, ACM Transactions on Computing Education, Journal of Research in Science Teaching, and Journal of Engineering Education
Dr. Leslie Dietiker is an Associate Professor of Mathematics Education at Wheelock College of Education & Human Development at Boston University.
Prior to academia, she was a high school mathematics teacher for 17 years and was a curriculum designer for CPM Educational Program. Her current research explores how teachers can be supported to design and enact mathematics lessons that spark student curiosity, wonder, and joy.
Pat Collins is a native of Galway and has worked as an Economic Geographer at the University of Galway since 2012. Prior to that he was a researcher at the Whitaker Institute where his work looked at the location decisions of multinational tech companies. More recently, Pat has turned his attention to Creative Economies and Cultural Production. Through a number of EU funded projects, Pat has sought to better understand the relationship between culture, creativity and production as well as identifying the unique role played by Geography. Pat has contributed to both of Galway’s designation of UNESCO City of Film and European Capital of Culture. He has published over 25 internationally peer reviewed journal articles and three books, the most recent ‘Galway: Making a Capital of Culture was released in 2023. He is co-director of the newly formed UrbanLab Galway at the University of Galway.
Dr. Emma O’Brien is an Associate Professor Director of Taught Postgraduate Studies in Education in Mary Immaculate College where she leads the development of innovative and flexible postgraduate programmes. She is currently the programme co-ordinator for the Masters of Education, and the Graduate Cert/Diploma and MEd in Digital Leadership in Education. Emma is currently leading the Erasmus + Teacher academy in Digital Leadership in Education (IDEAL Futures), she has worked in Digital Education since 2000 and has led several European projects in the area. She has published her work in journals such as Technology, Knowledge and Learning, European Journal of Education, British Journal of Educational Technology She also has acted as external examiner on several postgraduate programmes in the area of work based learning and digital learning. Emma was previously co-chair of FACILITATE. Emma’s research has changed over the past twenty years beginning in the area of digital workplace learning and evolving into the areas of digital transformation, digital educational leadership, transformative digital pedagogies, Supporting AI in education, and discourse regarding digital learning in the broad educational environment.
Conall Ó Máirtín, from Eglish, Co. Tyrone, has over twenty years of experience in education as an Irish Medium teacher and a college lecturer in Irish and Irish Medium at St. Mary’s University College, Belfast, teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Alongside his educational career, Conall has a background in broadcasting as a presenter and began a full-time media career in 2007 as a producer with BBC NI, creating Irish language content across radio and digital platforms for BBC Gaeilge.
Currently, Conall is the Educational Lead for TG4, Ireland's national Irish language broadcaster. In this role, he produces commissioned educational programmes and resources for TG4's dedicated education portal, Foghlaim TG4, manages outreach with universities, teachers, and schools, and liaises with educational bodies to advance TG4’s educational aims and objectives. Additionally, Conall works as a sports commentator and presenter on GAA Beo, covering all aspects of Gaelic Games.
Dessie Tennyson is McGraw Hill’s Learning Specialist for the Business & Economics. With over 22 years of experience in post-primary education, Dessie has been at the forefront of embedding educational technology and artificial intelligence into the curriculum. As a former senior leader in the education sector, Dessie specialises in understanding what motivates and inspires the new generation of learners. He has led numerous edtech and AI working groups, driving innovation and ensuring the highest standards of academic rigour and integrity. Dessie's expertise includes redesigning learning experiences, flipping the classroom, and adapting assessment strategies to meet the needs of learners in a world characterised by distractions, decreasing attention spans, information overload, and the arrival of Gen AI tools.
Professor Jane Walsh is a Health Psychologist and Director of the Mobile Technology and Health (mHealth) Research Group where she leads a programme of research on personalised connected health. Jane leads and partners on projects worth €25 million euro funded by Horizon Europe, HRB and SFI. Jane was Co-Leader of the Health and Wellbeing Cluster in the Whitaker Institute and a member of the Irish Cancer Society Research Advisory Board. She was recently appointed to the Royal Irish Academy Social Sciences Committee and is a former Chair of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) Division of Health Psychology . Jane was awarded the University of Galway President's Award for Research Excellence (2020) in recognition of her work.
Dr Dermot O’Donovan is the Head of Department of Creative Education in the School of Design and Creative Arts, at the Atlantic Technological University. The Department offers programmes of initial teacher education in a range of technological and creative post-primary disciplines, including Construction Studies, Design and Communication Graphics, and Art. Dermot holds a Bachelor of Commerce from UCC, a National Certificate in Furniture Design and Manufacture and Master of Science from GMIT, and a PhD in Higher Education Research from Lancaster University. Dermot’s research focuses on the principles and practices of Education for Sustainable Development, and he is a member of the HE-FET ESD Advisory Group.
