Increase education on housing landscape, market trends, and housing platform in the region.

Letters of Support Request
The Inland SoCal Housing Collective (ISCHC) takes positions on housing policies at the federal, state and local levels and supports housing projects. The ISCHC writes letters of support that align with the ISCHC’s mission for the Inland Empire region. Decisions are determined through a formal process where members review policies and letters of support based on the list below:
General Requirements:
Projects and policies will be evaluated by ISCHC to determine if it is consistent with the ISCHC’s mission.
Income Levels
Assists individuals and families who live at or below 120% of area median
Target Audience
Affordable Housing at all levels
All families needing affordable housing
Homebuyers, First-time homeowners, renters and those overcoming homelessness
Seniors
Families with children
Veterans
Boomerang buyers, persons returning to market after a foreclosure or short sale
Location
Inland Empire Only
Project Criteria:
The list below represents some of the elements necessary to be part of any project ISCHC will support. It is not necessary that projects meet all the criteria.
The number of homeless residents decreases
The number of homeowners increases
Increase racially integrated neighborhoods
Neighborhoods have a rich mix of incomes, professions, ethnicities and ages
Support economic opportunity in historically low-income communities with appropriate protections for existing residents
Support strong anti-displacement
Strong tenant protections
Anti-gentrification measures
People have a healthy variety of quality shopping choices in their neighborhoods
Increase the number of available/quality affordable housing units in inventory
Increase the number of affordable housing units preserved
Includes resident services
Community/resident involvement in planning
Ensure that developments are consistent with CA building codes and ensure the safety of residents
Taking into consideration a wide range of factors such as climate change and other elements of regional risks
Policy Criteria:
The list below represents some of the elements necessary to be part of any policy ISCHC will support. It is not necessary that projects meet all the criteria. In addition, ISCHC develops a list of policy priorities each year. It is important, but not necessary, that the policies considered for support are consistent with the ISCHC annual policy goals.
Residents have an increasing number of viable choices of neighborhoods in which they can live
Access to schools offering high quality education
Workers at all levels can live in safe housing near their jobs
Increase the number of affordable housing units preserved
Creation of more housing units for all
Increase the number of available/quality affordable housing units in inventory
Increase in household financial soundness and stability
Benefits and does not harm LMI Community
Increase in subsidies to the Inland Empire toward housing solutions
Neighbors are included in the planning process and that their needs are taken into account (especially to avoid displacement).
