2021/2022 Season

Class 1 – Vintage

● Sports cars and sedans that could have or did compete prior to 1969.

● No magnets allowed

● Motor: Either Ninco NC1 or NC8; Derby City Raceway MTI or SL1; H&R Jackrabbit (blue motor) must be used

● Chassis must be in-line.

Class 2 – Classic Sports Racers - aka “Fly Can-Ams”

● Cars must be Fly, Monogram, GB Track or Carrera models of Can-Am sports racers (not production based) from 1966-1974.

● No magnets allowed

● You may replace rear wheels with plastic press-on (not set screw) wheels

Class 3 – Slot.it / Policar Classics

● Car must be a Slot.it or Policar Classic with stock configuration and OEM parts.

● No magnets allowed. Motor must either be stock, Scalextric black stripe, or Piranha 21.5k.

Class 4 - Trans-Am

● American Tran-Am era cars that competed in American Trans-Am Road Race Series (through 1974).

● Chassis pods not allowed

● Magnet Marshall measured down force limits will be 150g in any location.

Class 5 – Scalextric Stock Car

● Cars must be Scalextric NASCAR, USAC, or other American stock car series racers.

● Magnet Marshall measured down force limit will be 225 grams maximum

Class 6 – GT

● Cars must be modern GT and TransAm cars from 1990 until present

● Motors must be rated no higher than 21,500 rpm's at 12V.

● Magnet Marshall measured down-force limit will be 175 grams maximum.

● Axles, axle bushings, wheels, and gears may be replaced


Class 7 - Modified Sports Prototype

● Must be sports prototype body, open or closed cockpit allowed.

● Cars must be based on plastic RTR chassis and motor

● Magnet Marshall measured down-force limit will be 400 grams maximum

● All modifications are allowed, with the following exceptions/restrictions:

● Body must be hard shell, printed plastic, or resin with a driver figure, an interior, and clear

“glass” present

Optional Class 8 – Pro Slot Cheapies / GT

● Proslot GT cars

● No magnets allowed

● Green End Bell, Hawk 1, or ProSlot Evo 2 motor must be used

● You may replace rear wheels with plastic press-on (only) wheels

● Pinion gear may be changed and must be 9, 10, or 11 tooth

● Spur gear may be changed and must be 36 or 37 tooth

● Upgraded Vintage cars (wheels,axle,bushings) from the 2014 /2015 IMAR rules set will be allowed in this class.

If the car wins a race, then it must be brought into the current 2015 rules set.

Class 2 – Slot.It Classics

● Car must be a Slot.It classic with stock configuration and OEM parts.

● No magnets allowed. Motor must either be stock orange endbell motor or Scalextric black stripe

Class 3- Scalextric Trans-Am

● Scalextric TransAm era cars that could have competed in American Trans-Am Road Race Series (through 1974)

● Magnet Marshall measured down force limit - 150g maximum in any location

Class 4 - Stock Car (any brand)

● Cars must be NASCAR, USAC, or other American stock car series racers.

- Replacement pinion gear may be non-original and may be metal, but must have a tooth count between 9 and 11 inclusive. Replacement of spur gear with 36 teeth is permissible.

 

 

 

Class 2 – Vintage

- Use of magnets is prohibited


- All modifications are allowed, with the following exceptions/restrictions:


  * Chassis must meet the body as from manufacturer.


  * Body must be hard shell plastic or resin with a driver figure, an interior, and “glass” present

-Fly cars must run stock magnet in any position.


- Carrera cars may use Scalextric Trans-Am wheels and tires.

 

 

Class 7 - Stock Car

 

- Cars must be NASCAR, USAC, or other American stock car series racers.

- In-line cars (older style Scalex only) may add two (2) Radio Shack dot magnets inside of chassis on top of existing bar (the only location allowed).


- Sidewinder cars must run the stock bar magnet in any factory prepared, chassis position.

 

 

Class 8 – GT/Production Sports


- This class is for all production-based sports and GT cars, not one-off cars race cars built for the road (e.g. SCCA Production classes, GT class, ALMS GT and GTS, FIA GT


- Motors must be rated below 21,500 rpm.

 

- One PMTR1063 magnet may be used and may be placed in a non-stock location inside the chassis. Magnet may be cut, sawed, filed or broken to fit into the chassis. No holes may be cut in the chassis to add magnets or to make the magnets flush with the bottom of the chassis. Chassis may not be shaved or thinned to reduce magnet distance to the track and/or increase magnet effectiveness. Magnet holders may be shaved down to height of surrounding frame, e.g. Marcos.

 

- Revell / Monogram cars may use stock magnet location on bottom of chassis.

 

- Rear axle may be replaced.  Rear axle bushings may be replaced.  Ball or roller bearings are prohibited.  Rear wheels may be replaced. 

 

- Motor pinion gear may be replaced and crown or spur gear may be replaced – however gear ration must remain the same.

 

 

 

Class 9 – Modern Formula One

 

Scalex Formula One from 2001 to present.

 

Cars must be authentically liveried

 

A car may be “re-liveried” to make it look like another actual race car

 

 

 

Class 10 - Modified Sports Prototype


- Must be sports prototype body, open or closed allowed (e.g. Can-Am, IMSA/WSC prototypes, Lemans/ALMS P1-P2, IMSA GTP, FIA Group C, Daytona Prototypes).


- All modifications are allowed, with the following exceptions/restrictions:

 

* Chassis must meet the body as from manufacturer.


* Body must be hard shell plastic or resin with a driver figure, an interior, and “glass”.


* Magnets that are added must be inside/topside of chassis.


* No holes may be cut in chassis to add magnets or make magnets flush with bottom of chassis.

 

* All stock locations can be used with upgraded magnets, except cars that have stock magnet locations on the underside of the chassis, in which case the original OEM magnet may be used, but no upgrade or modification may be made to magnets in this positions. Magnet holders may be shaved to the level of the surrounding chassis.

* Tires must fit under the unmodified body.


- Cars must be based on plastic RTR chassis and motor

 

- Wings must be in place at the start of each race, both front and rear

- These cars must be based on plastic RTR chassis and motor (plastic chassis only, e.g. no TSRF, Pro Track Spider, metal Monogram chassis).


- Use of magnets is prohibited


- All modifications are allowed, with the following exceptions/restrictions:


* Chassis must meet the body as from manufacturer.


* Body must be hard shell plastic or resin with driver figure, interior, and “glass” present


* No holes may be cut in chassis.

Class 8 - Scalextric IRL Cars

Class 10 - Modified Sports Prototype


- Must be sports prototype body, open or closed allowed (e.g. CanAm, IMSA/WSC prototypes, Lemans/ALMS P1-P2, IMSA GTP, FIA Group C, Daytona Prototypes).


- All modifications are allowed, with the following exceptions/restrictions:


* Chassis must meet the body as from manufacturer.


* Body must be hard shell plastic or resin with driver, interior, and “glass”.


* Magnets that are added must be inside/topside of chassis.


* No holes may be cut in chassis to add magnets or make magnets flush with bottom of chassis.


- All stock locations can be used with upgraded magnets, except cars that have stock magnet locations on the underside of the chassis, in which case the original OEM magnet may be used, but no upgrade or modification may be made to magnets in this positions. Magnet holders may be shaved to the level of the surrounding chassis.


- Tires must fit under the unmodified body.


- Cars must be based on plastic RTR chassis and motor


- Wings must be in place at the start of each race, both front and rear

Class 1 – Cheapies


- Cars must be ProSlot Porsche 911 GT2 or GT3, Ferrari F355 or F360


- Green End Bell motor must be used


- Use of magnets is prohibited


-You may replace rear stock tires with silicon tires


- Replacement pinion gear may be non-original and may be metal, but must have a tooth count between 9 and 11 inclusive. Replacement of spur gear with 36 teeth is permissible.



Class 2 – Vintage


- Sports cars and sedans that could have or did compete prior to 1966.


- Tires and wheels may be changed


- Use of magnets is prohibited.


- Motor may be of any brand and rated at or below 18,500 rpm.


Class 3– Super Touring/Rally


- Cars must be sedans, and rally car based models (e.g. DTM, BTCC, ETCC, WTCC,WRC, SCCA Pro Rally and similar cars)


- These cars must be based on plastic RTR chassis and motor (plastic chassis only, e.g. no TSRF, Pro Track Spider, metal Monogram chassis).


- Use of magnets is prohibited


- All modifications are allowed, with the following exceptions/restrictions:


- Chassis must meet the body as from manufacturer.


- Body must be hard shell plastic or resin with driver figure, interior, and “glass” present


- No holes may be cut in chassis.






Class 4 – Classic Sports Racers


- Cars must be models of Le-Mans or Can-Am sports racers (not production based) from 1966-1976.





Class 5- Trans-Am


- Sports sedans and 2+2 sedans that competed or could have competed in American Trans-Am Road Race Series (through 1974).


- Scalextric Trans-Am cars will run with the magnet PMTR1030 in the front position


- Tires must remain stock.


- Carrera cars may use Scalextric Trans-Am wheels and tires.


- Fly cars must run stock magnet in any position.



Class 6 - Stock Car


- Cars must be NASCAR, USAC, or other American stock car series racers.


- Tires must be stock tires or Hot Shoe replacements (any compound).


- In-line cars (older style Scalex only) may add one (1) Radio Shack dot magnet inside of chassis on top of existing bar (the only location allowed).


- Sidewinder cars must run the stock bar magnet in the center, factory prepared, chassis position.

Class 7 – GT/Production Sports


- This class is for all production-based sports and GT cars, not one-off cars race cars built for the road (e.g. SCCA Production classes, GT class, ALMS GT and GTS, FIA GT


- Motors must be rated below 21,500.


- One PMTR1063 magnet may be used and may be placed in a non-stock location inside the chassis. Magnet may be cut, sawed, filed or broken to fit into the chassis. No holes may be cut in the chassis to add magnets or to make the magnets flush with the bottom of the chassis. Chassis may not be shaved or thinned to reduce magnet distance to the track and/or increase magnet effectiveness. Magnet holders may be shaved down to height of surrounding frame, e.g. Marcos.


- Revell/Monogram cars may use stock magnet location on bottom of chassis.

No high performance or upgraded motors will be allowed in this class. The use of older motors (e.g. Eldon, Strombecker) will be handled on a case-by-case basis by the Rules Marshall.
