Isaac Romagosa is an award winning guitar player, composer and educator from Barcelona (Spain), based in New York City. Coming from a very eclectic musical background, Isaac has performed, recorded, composed and arranged in many different musical contexts and projects from Baroque music to Metal, Jazz, Classical music, Pop/Rock or Flamenco.
Isaac Romagosa has released two studio albums as solo artist: “From Now On” (Distrokid, 2022), where he explores the flamenco tradition fusioning it with French Post-Impressionism musical influences and “Fast Forward” (Sedajazz Records, 2025), merging Serialism concepts in a contemporary jazz context. Fast Forward has reached 2025 top-10 best jazz albums in Catalonia. Both albums have been recorded between Barcelona and Boston and have the collaboration of musicians from all over the world.
As a sideman, Isaac has toured and recorded with different artists such as Al Di Meola, Chano Dominguez, Jerry Bergonzi, Ciara Moser, Elsa Hackett, OBC (Barcelona Symphony Orchestra and National Orchestra of Catalonia), Maria José Llergo, Lumanyano Mzi, Alfred Garcia, Gitit Shoval or Lefteris Kordis.
Isaac has also worked as an accompanist at ESMuC (Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya) and at the Berklee College of Music in Boston and has also taught in different institutions including the Eastman School of Music (University of Rochester), Escola Contrapunt (Barcelona) and is currently teaching at the New York University.
Isaac starts his classical guitar studies with Rosario Casellas and Carles Delgado along with harmony, choir, piano, chamber music, modern ensemble and orchestra studies in his hometown school of music. He also starts studying electric guitar during middle school years with Xavi Diaz and Toni Mena. At the age of 15 he is accepted to Oriol Martorell Conservatory, finishing classical guitar studies with Jaime Basulto. At the age of 17 he is accepted to study his undergrad studies at ESMuC in Barcelona in the Modern/Jazz Performance program, earning the bachelor’s degree in 2019. At the college he also studies Classical Guitar with Laura Young and Flamenco guitar with Rafael Cañizares. In 2018 Isaac wins the “Anna Riera” Foundation award. In 2019 he moves to Boston to study at Berklee College of Music with Berklee, AIE (Spain foundation), and Latin Grammy Foundation Scholarships, entering the Berklee Global Jazz institute the same year.
In 2022 Isaac graduates from the Berklee Global Jazz Institute Masters Program with a full scholarship. He is currently pursuing a DMA in Jazz Performance and Composition at the New York University with "La Caixa" Fellowship.
