I am a friendly person with a passionate enthusiasm for science and learning. I love to inspire curiosity and I enjoy sharing and explaining how the world around us works from a scientific perspective. I have a diverse background, from my early adventures to be a mountain guide though to my developed passion in neuroscience and synthetic biology as a road towards my studies in education. My travels have lead me down many different roads and allowed me to develop a wealth of experience.

Teaching philosophy:

I believe that learning is a process made most effective when students are engaged and eager to learn. Through my experiences, I have found that directional scaffolding is a necessary aid for students embarking on new learning adventures, but that students will learn most effectively while engaging with hands-on interactive-based learning experiences. People are naturally inquisitive, and when provided with some encouragement and a few light directional cues they readily head down a dynamic learning path. The role of the teacher, in my perspective, is to help guide students through their learning experience. The teacher is there to help students learn how to learn, how to use the available resources to find the knowledge they are seeking. An effective teacher must possess not only a subject-specific knowledge base, but also be able to engage their students in metacognition.
