The problem
Customers had to join long queues at the bank to deposit or redraw cash.
The goal
To allow customers and managers make easy money transactions and reduce large numbers at the banking hall.
This is a dedicated mobile app designed to curtail the issues of physically going to banks for large and minor transactions . The targeted audience for this app were customers and managers of the UMB bank
My Role
This was a sole project therefore, I was the lead UX designer, UX researcher, Interaction designer and all.
My Responsibilities
I performed all the responsibilities from user research, wireframing, prototyping, designing among others.
Understanding the User
User Research
I scheduled and directed meetings to me help me understand the users I'm designing for, their needs and necessities. An essential user group distinguished through research working adults and students who needed to redraw or deposit cash ASAP.
This user bunch affirmed beginning suppositions about the customers of the bank, however additional research reveled that not only stressful ways of banking was the issue. But also
other customers wanted ready cash and some workers wished they could work from home.
Persons & Problem Statement
Digital Wireframes
After drafting some paper wireframes, I created the initial digital designs for the app. These designs mainly provided registration, settings, making transactions and profile editing features and screens.
Low - Fi & Mockups
For usability testing, I created a low-fidelity prototype, connected the user flow and added minor functionalities to realize the primary goal of the app.
Usability Study Findings
This are the additional research findings after participants used a low-fi prototype of my app.
Round 1 Findings
Users unable to have a registration screen
User was unable to review services
Users wanted to have a full app ready
Round 2 Findings
Users were unable to make complaints in case anything went wrong
Hi - fi Prototype
The high-fidelity prototype followed the same user flow as the low-fidelity prototype, including design changes made after the usability study.
